A WEEK IN NAILS

Autumn nails

From nude to deep purple, I adore keeping my nails cared for. I am not a pro. Far from it. In fact, my nails look best from afar! But I enjoy the process of choosing the shade, usually keeping them short and square. I usually choose my nail colour depending on a mood and not the occasion. I can’t be the only one?

I’ve discovered this perfect light pinky nude from Nailberry ages ago. The oxygenating formula works well and the polish stays put without chipping for a few days. Depending on the nail condition 2-3 coats are needed for the opaque finish. It’s an easy shade for every day, it makes short nails look very well groomed.

Muted purples have dominated my lips last year and this year they’re a near constant on my nails. I love Essie Gel Couture gel-like formula, the painting is easy thanks to a good quality brush and colour payoff outstanding. Again longevity is a plus here. Plus this shade looks gorgeous both glossy and matted.

Healthy nail polish for fall

Usually choosing healthier nail formulas suck in terms of application but not Soigné. This gorgeous true red makes for a perfect everyday statement and will suit a red lip like no other. With reds being so in season this fall, I feel like every woman should introduce a statement red into her routine. Not ready for a big red coat or even a lippy? Class it up with your nails and take it from there!

Deep burgundy on lips and nails is one match made in heaven I can totally get on board with. Glossy or matte this Essie Gel Couture shade simply does the job! I wore it matte for a week, matching it with matte liquid lips in a very similar shade and loved every second of it. It’s a bold choice, sure, but what better time to experiment with burgundy than autumn!

Another lip choice of mine is deep purple and on my nails, I love to take that even darker. I could not include my favourite from Barry M Daylight Curing, the formula of which dries fully opaque, glossy and lasting. This particular shade looks almost black in some lighting, but usually, you can detect the gorgeous purple hint to its darkness. Isn’t it stunning?
