Zoom-ready makeup routine (no powder)

Getting Zoom-ready every morning is essential to stick to the pretence of being ready and no, I am most definitely NOT wearing my PJ bottoms *wink wink*. These days I opt for quick and easy cream formulas giving me  that fresh faced ‘I woke up this’ made up kinda look using some fantastic new launches and some cult favourites! Get saving some of these babies ready for payday!

You don’t need full coverage to look made up, you just need skin perfecting base products to make you look like a doll without the cake. Think a complexion perfecting primer, like the new launch: Erborian Skin Hero* which not only smoothes, evens out skin tone and blurs pores instantly but also makes your skin look better over time! Lotion-like formula doesn’t make you overly glowing, in fact, even oily-skin may like this as it gives you the more natural luminous matte skin finish. Utilising retexturising Korean White Ginseng, it transforms skin day by day. This non-silicone and non-pigment skincare and makeup hybrid is one to look into if you’re on a lookout for something to make your skin appear a bit more made up without makeup! Grab yours from Erborian UK and SpaceNK.

Add some coverage but keep it like you haven’t, with the brand new Stila Tinted Moisturiser Skin Balm*. I’m pretty obsessed with this! It covers redness and my biggest insecurity: broken capillaries but looks like nothing on the skin! I wear shade Light 1, neutral in tone and light enough for my pasty face! It offers light but buildable coverage and a beautiful luminous finish without too much glow. It looks like nothing on skin, and you can totally fake that I’m not wearing foundation today look. Get yours from Beauty Bay, Look Fantastic and Stila UK.

And, of course, if you need a bit more coverage to conceal dark circles or highlight with, try The Ordinary Concealer in 1.2N. Full coverage and self setting, it’s great all over and under the eyes. I tend to use a little powder to keep it in place under eyes and make sure my mascara doesn’t smudge, but you can totally go without! Grab yours from Beauty Bay, Boots, Cult Beauty, Deciem, Feel Unique and Look Fantastic.

Fake the sun, fake the face, am I right? Now that we’ve cancelled imperfections, it’s time to welcome back some shape and colour. I start with Danessa Myricks Balm Contour in shade 1 - deliciously cool but not grey-like, it blends in easily adding not only a bit of bronzed glow but also help me enhance cheekbones, cancel a bit of that forehead and contours the nose. I apply it quite high up on my cheekbones to slim down my round face, and go on top of bridge of the nose as well as temples and around the forehead. Available from Beautylish, Danessa Myricks Beauty USGuru Makeup Emporium and Love Makeup UK.

Even dolls need some colour. Lately, I’ve been opting for a multitasker: Live Tinted Hue Stick in Rise - a dark peach which is perfect to add a little colour to my cheeks, but also to cancel dark circles if applied before concealer and add a little something to the eyes and lips, if you so wish. It’s truly incredible. From the incredible @Deepica on Instagram, comes this unbelievable eyeshadow/blusher/corrector and lipstick - all in one beautifully packaged stick! Available from Cult Beauty.

Don't stop until Martians can see you (or your work crush lol) and follow with Live Tinted Hue Glow - a liquid illuminator that can be used all over as a highlighting primer and to highlight the face and body. Available in two shades, I opted for Rose Gold and given only two shades are available Deepica does something quite special with both, as they somehow work on someone as pale as me, through light to medium, medium to dark and the deepest skin tones! Watch and learn brands - it can be done! I'd suggest Rose Gold for pink and neutral undertones and Bronze for neutral to warm, red and olive tones, but then again who am I to tell you how to live your best glow life?! If you always struggled with liquid highlighters that set too quickly to blend them nicely, this will totally change your life, pinky swear! Available from Cult Beauty.

Brows and lashes on point but make them delicate. There isn’t much more that you really need than a good brow gel to make your brows appear fuller and more structured. I am currently changing up my brow routine almost daily but for those lazy girl days, I often opt for Glossier Boy Brow in Blonde. Can you believe I’ve only just tried it recently? It keeps my brows in check, not quite the strenght of ABH Brow Freeze but it’s actually really decent on unruly brows like mine. And adds colour all in one step. BDQ approved! Get yours from Glossier.

Go from 'I haven't slept in a month to wide awake in mere minutes with a little coat (or three!!!) of mascara. I’ve been opting for lengthening formulas and recently did a little video on this magical mascara from Benefit. They’re Real Magnet mascara not only adds some serious length but also some volume (enough for me!) and is a lot easier to remove than its predecessors. All in all it’s a fab little product and as always available in full size or a lovely (and a lot cheaper!) travel size which is what you see here today. I mean if my word doesn’t mean anything just look at before and after photo (3 coats) or watch my Reels on Instagram here! Yours from Benefit UK, Boots, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique and Look Fatastic.

What makeup, if any, are you picking up to get you Zoom/Teams call ready?
