TAKE A BATH WITH ME #3

Bathtime beauty favourites

I don’t know about you but I’m more of a bath person. A shower just doesn’t quite do it for me. I love pouring in bubbles, maybe some bath oils & lighting a candle or two. Bath is a sacred ritual & lately, I’ve been enjoying some newbies that I think you’d love to hear about.

Body favourites

There’s no bath without a body scrub. When it comes to body products I look for sweet scents & nourishing properties. Enter Soaper Duper Zesty Lemon Body Scrub | £9.50 for 250ml. Widely available at Boots, the Soaper Duper range includes body washes, scrubs, body butters, hand and foot creams in a variety of scents. The scrub isn’t too harsh but leaves my skin feeling soft and without oily residue making it perfect for prepping the skin for the fake tan.

I’ve fallen for Rituals ‘Ritual of Yalda’ Foaming Shower Gel*
when it was kindly gifted to me so much so I later bought a perfume & a candle from the same series. Currently on offer for only £5.95 the foaming gel cleanses and also surrounds me with the gorgeous scent of sweet watermelon and pomegranate. The luxurious foam isn’t stripping and leaves my skin feeling cleansed and moisturised. It’s super gentle too!

Mask time

There’s no better time for a face mask than during a bath. The humidity and warmth open pores and allows ingredients to penetrate deeper. Pixi Beauty designed their In-Shower Steam Facial** to be used in the shower and/or bath. It not only deeply cleanses but nourishes as heat is released when you massage it into the skin. The luxurious feeling formula transforms from gel to oil as acacia collagen and peptides deeply moisturise and plump up the skin. Thanks to jasmine and lavender extracts it feels super relaxing, perfect for bedtime. It’s currently on sale for only £12 for  135ml at Marks & Spencer.

Caring for hair

I always reach for purple shampoo as it helps me care for my bleached blonde mane. L’Oreal Colorista Silver Shampoo is only £6.99 and really makes a difference. I wash my hair with it twice, the second time leaving it on for about 5 minutes. It really transforms brassy tones!

All toner based shampoos can leave hair feeling a little dry, so I tend to follow with a deeply nourishing mask, like Pureology Superfood Colour Care Treatment* (currently on offer at Look Fantastic for £21.41 for 170g). The buttery formula enriched with proteins, vitamins, coconut and avocado oils to replenish and hydrate hair from roots to tips. Hair feels super soft & strong after a single use and mask continues to fortify the strands as you continue to use it on a weekly basis. Forget fullness and welcome shiny and happy hair despite the dyes and heat styling!
