I’m always down for a facial but lockdown has proven difficult to maintain a facial routine, so I decided to fix that. Enter beauty maintenance at home. Luxury treatments that WORK. Facial-like experience at a fraction of a price from the comfort of my sofa. I didn’t expect this road to take me to a £10 facelift but here we are. Intrigued?
About Franz Skincare
The luxury Korean brand Franz claims a whole new approach to skincare. The brand believes in accomplishing skin goals through well-researched SCIENCE. The science that involves dermatology, pharmaceutical, chemistry,
chemical & biological engineering and medical engineering to find solutions that WORK. How refreshing is that in the world of fear marketing? They believe that ingredients should deliver deep into the inner skin and not simply concentrate on top layers. They achieve that by the introduction of best-repairing ingredients and going beyond that. The truth is while a lot of topically applied ingredients can bring temporary results, it’s the delivery method that matters.
I love a brand that believes that only through research and science you can truly deliver skincare that works. Simple as that. It’s refreshing especially in the world so quick to cancel years of scientific research by the introduction of fear-mongering marketing. With Franz, you get what you pay for and you pay the premium. But is it worth it?
Iontophoresis uses in skincare delivery
Iontophoresis treatments have been designed to tighten and smooth the muscles and connectives tissue by increasing cellular activity by using microcurrents. It can improve muscle tone, reduce puffiness by increasing drainage and even tighten pores. The treatment should be pain-free, but that can depend on the delivery system.
Science behind Tissue-X
Franz Tissue-X Technology has been designed as a non-invasive transdermal delivery system that is safe to use at home and without the hassle and cost associated with top-end microcurrent devices. It enhances the skin’s ability to absorb ingredients meaning delivery deep into inner skin layers where most reconstructive and repairing processes take place. Unlike existing iontophoresis skin care treatments, Tissue X™ does not require any devices, equipment, electricity or battery power to generate microcurrents. Instead, it generates microcurrents in non-woven fabrics by using the difference of ions.

Is microcurrent safe?
Some of the contradictions you should consider before choosing a microcurrent facial include epilepsy, infection with high temperature, early recovery of stroke, immune deficiency diseases, thyroid problems, hepatitis and circulation problems to name just a few. Always contact your doctor to see if a microcurrent device is safe to use for you.
I was not able to find any information about the side effects of using microcurrents delivery via Tissue-X technology. Please be mindful when using if you have any pre-existing medical conditions as mentioned above.
Franz Jet Dual Mask System
The Jet Dual Mask System used Tissue-X technology to help with the absorption of key ingredients such as Oligo Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide and Copper Tripeptide-1 responsible for skin’s ability to repair itself. The full ingredients list is very impressive and covers all bases with hydrolysed hyaluronic acid, glycerin, betaine, panthenol, trehalose, allantoin, copper, peptides, Ceramides, arginine, vitamins A, C and E and many more.
The mask comes in 3 parts to be used at the same time.
Step 1: You start with applying The Enriching Mask which is a sheet soaked with a ton of juicy essence. In fact, there’s enough left to use the next day as a sheet mask with something like Hydrapuffs. Or you can simply use it instead of the essence if you collect it into a container. There’s no much to this step and if you’re familiar with sheet mask application, it is the same.
Step 2: Take out Empowering Mask and lay it down with 2 plastic bits up. Essentially mask has two sides, one that has visible grey cubes print and the other with 2 plastic rectangles. You then open The Boosting Essence and apply it to each of the plastic bits, you can see there’s a bit of sponge-like material, you want to concentrate the essence to soak that part.
Step 3: Apply the Empowering Mask on top of the Enriching Mask grey cube print side down. You want the plastic bits to be sticking out.
The mask is to be on your face for 20-25 minutes and you want to take it off as soon as it feels like it’s starting to dry. Franz recommends using it twice a week for prolonged results.

Okay, but how do I feel about it?
I received the first box of 2 treatments as Franz masks tend to come as part of a gifted collaboration but I already bought 3 more boxes. Using it the first couple of times made me realise how amazing the whole process is. I have a microcurrent device, so I don’t feel like I need to use another, however, if you simply don’t have the time to use your existent microcurrent device, or don’t have one and can’t afford to splurge, this mask really comes in handy.
Typically I apply it for 30 mins and the results are pretty damn incredible. Plumped skin with increased levels of hydration and a more defined contour. Just like that. You can walk around when you wear it, meaning you don’t have to stop to use it and that’s what makes it so special. With microcurrent devices, it takes a bit of time to sit down, apply the gels and do all the areas as you have to concentrate on that. Sure you can watch TV whilst doing so but your hands are engaged. Whereas with Franz Dual Mask System you can cook dinner, write an email, or a blog post whilst the mask does the job for you.
It feels like a luxurious facial and gives the finish of one too. I’m all about science-led ingredients and it’s how the Franz Jet Dual Mask System delivers. Its ability to define face contour in just mere minutes is what makes it oh so special. It lifts my skin in all the right places! I noticed the results around my cheekbones ASAP, but let’s not forget that also hydrates, soothes and plumps which makes for a magical experience. I call it my pre-event face list at home.
So if you have an important day ahead of you, I recommend you stock up on Franz Jet Dual Mask System so you can always look your best when you need it the most.
