NEW YEAR'S EVE SPARKLE: GLITTER MADE EASY

The BEFORE picture

Simple sparkly New Year's Eve tutorial for hooded eyes

I can almost hear you all shouting at this title. Putting together glitter and easy in one sentence almost never ends well. Thankfully with the little product, I’m about to introduce - it’s easy and wow and it takes less than a minute to apply. It almost feels like Glitter Gods are finally listening to feedback! Without further ado let’s get ready together this New Year’s Eve!

Glitterati.

I always start any eye makeup with a primer and lately it’s theBalm Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer. Very similar to the original UD or Too Faced primer, it’s almost silky and I apply it all over my lids and under the eyes. I set it with an off-white shade, this time I’ve used touchinSOL Sun Cutting Powder*. To build up the crease, I’ve used matte shades from my new Tarte Flirt palette starting with Gaze, above the crease and blended almost up to the brow bone as a transition shade. I then build upon my fake crease by placing both Playful and Hotline just above the crease and blending out with Gaze to create a 3D effect. In the outer corner, I applied first Playful and then deepened with Snuggle. I left my mid lid blank on purpose, as I knew the main dish of the event will be the touchinSOL Metallist Liquid Foil and Glitter Shadow Duo in Talia*. First went the foil liquid eyeshadow straight from the doe applicator, lightly blended with a brush. On top I packed on the glitter from the other side, also using the applicator included. The shine, the true GLOW these two bring out together is simply unreal! For my bottom lid, I used a little of Snuggle in the outer corners and blended it in with Hotline for a smokey effect. I then took a little Talia on the brush and applied it in the inner corner for the ultimate glow. I finished up with two coat of the mascara, here Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara and Eylure Volume No 101 Lashes. And voila!

Brows on fleek.

It’s a combination of two products but I love to start from the bottom and draw a line with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Taupe first and then blend it in and also fill in the gaps and top curve with my new touchinSOL Browza Super Proof Gel Brow Pencil in Taupe for Two*. It’s a great shade and soft gel-like formula that covers all the hair and gives them a visible boost. I find this method to work best for me if I want my brows to be perfect yet be as ‘natural’ as possible.

All about that base.

I started with my fave touchinSOL Feels Like Honey Moon* base as it’s hydrating and adds only a subtle glow but keeps my makeup in check for many hours! On the high points of my face I followed with a little of touchinSOL I’m Very Useful Makeup Boomer* to highlight. My base of choice was Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation mixed with a little LA Girl Whitener as the foundation is way too dark otherwise. It gives a lovely finish, it’s so natural but quite buildable to a nice medium coverage. To cover and highlight I’ve used my very well loved Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and set it all up with touchinSOL Sun Cutting Powder. I only set my forehead, around the nose and chin as these are the only places I ever get shiny throughout the day or night.

Contour pro.

Ok, I’m far from a pro but I do love a good cut cheek! Lately, I’ve been using theBalm Bahama Mama again. It’s not the easiest bronzer to use as it’s super pigmented but I’ve overcome the fear of it and it’s been ages since I’ve used any other to contour. Yes, it takes practice and a good brush but I love both the shade and the finish. A little colour to my cheeks comes from the cult Nars Orgasm and I topped up my cheekbones with a little of touchinSOL I’m Useful Makeup Boomer to give my highlight a good base. It’s so beautiful and glowing on its own but we all know my highlight must be visible to Mars, so I finished it up with a touch (a touch - right...! Lol) of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Pearl

A truth from my red lips.

I don't know about you but I just don't feel truly made up without a statement red lip. It's such a classic shade and makes me feel both confident and like I'm winning at adulting at this point but I like to lie to myself every so often but shhhhh... I out aside most of liquid lipstick formulas (with some exceptions of course!) and been wearing more glossy and hydrating finishes. Enter touchinSOL Rouge Fondue Lipstick in Fondue Red*. I adore the almost glossy finish. It makes my lips appear fuller and kiss-able (apply here lol). The shade is rather juicy strawberry red and completes this look so well, don't you think?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for sticking with me for another year. To see so many of you here every day makes me so happy and truly makes it all worthwhile. This outlet allows me to write about things I'm super passionate about, being unapologetically me. Every time you visit, share or leave a comment truly makes my day, so please don't think it goes unnoticed. Thank you once more for all your support! On my end, I'd like to wish each and every one of you an amazing new year. I hope 2018 will be the year all your dreams come true.
