Goodbye beauty - September empties in full bloom

Hello my lovelies. This week started with rain and weather outside is just miserable. I finally managed to go in to my empties bag and it turned out to be a little excessive so I have to break it down in to two posts :) It's been a while since I've done this type of post but here we go.

I must have mentioned it previously but I love a good bath. I always use bubble baths from Avon as I think they smell great, give plenty bubbles and you can grab them at £2.50 per 1 litre on sale. Can't really go wrong with that. I have a sensitive skin and they haven't done anything to upset it so I highly recommend them to everyone. This time I used up two: Spring Garden which has a lovely flowery smell and Strawberry Sorbet delivering sweet strawberry cocktail smell.

I'm a huge fan of Body Shop Shower Cream/Gels and this time I used up Shea Shower Cream. It has a lovely, sweet scent and letters the skin perfectly. It also lasts forever. The only real minus are sulphates in the ingredient list but at £4 it does the job and it leaves my skin feeling nourished.

I used up Dove Purely Pampering Beauty Cream Wash with shea butter and warm vanilla scent. As with any Dove products this hand wash was really moisturising. I also used it to wash my brushes with and it left the bristles soft. It cleaned them pretty well too so it's a definite yes from me.

Few bits from my hair routine next. First up a repurchases (which doesn't happen very often): both Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture range shampoo and Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical are my bathroom staples. Shampoo is really great, it cleanses my hair well and leaves them squeky clean after just one wash and Batiste spray is something I can't imagine my life without. I have to say I like Tropical over some others as I find it works well with my hair.

From conditioning side of my hair routine I finally used up L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Masque. I must say it's not a great one overall. I haven't seen any improvement in how thick my hair is and it didn't nourish them at all, leaving them straw like. I also used up a sample of L'Occitane 5 Essential Oils Conditioner. It works great but the herbal smell is not the one for me.

Skincare wise I used up Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover, which works great removing eye makeup and any mascara. It had a little bit of issue with Benefits's They're Real but I have yet to meet makeup remover that hasn't :)

I'm finally saying goodbye to Lancome's Hydra Zen range day and night creams. I have to say, my skin did not like them at all. I have a dry skin and these two just made it greasy. I ended up using them on my neck. It's a real shame as I had hight expectations. I'm glad I got to test them in 15ml size samples as it would be totally pointless to buy full size.

I quite liked Skin Pep Collagen Renew Peptide Repair Day Cream. It does the job of moisturising beautifully. However it takes a little more time to fully absorb which makes it not ideal for a busy mornings where you just don't have time to wait before applying your makeup. I love Skin Pep and I will most definitely purchase this full size anyway as it's a great moisturiser. Maybe I'll just opt for a night version if it.

I'm not a huge fan of makeup remover wipes and tend not to use any on my face, only using them to remove makeup of the back of my hand when I swatch for blog or when I apply my makeup in the morning. I got these Halo Fragrance Free Facial Wipes in one of the Glossyboxes and I must say they are not bad. Again I wouldn't use it as the only thing to remove makeup but they were very wet and for non makeup days worked perfectly to refresh my skin.

Makeup wise I have some empties too :) I rarely finish any makeup, I have so many but I managed quite a bit, especially on mascara front. I'm saying a tearful goodbye to my 3 faves this month: Maybelline Lash Sensational which is just an incredible mascara that won't break a bank but it will leave you with full volume and length lashes and it also lasts well. All from a hughstreet - well done!!

I used up two travel size versions of Benetit They're Real and Roller Lash. I adore They're Real. If you're dreaming of falsies but hate application process this is the one for you. It will stay on all day, it's a bitch to remove tho. It will give you true black full lashes. I have to admit this is one of my all time favourites. Roller Lash is a very similar mascara to Lash Sensational. If you compare the brushes they're almost identical. I actually prefer Maybelline as you get results faster and I found that with Roller Lash you may need an extra layer to do so as it's quite dry.

Lip product. Yes, I used one up. Max Factor Lipfinity is still my all time favourite when it comes to long lasting lipsticks. Mine was in colour O3 and it's a satin dusty rose nude. It looks gorgeous for everyday and it was my fave for a really long time. It's not fully used up but unfortunately out of date now.

I love Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion and I used up another sample size. I must say I prefer the Anti-Aging formula of the primer potion but they all work incredibly at prolonging your eye makeup.

Lastly I managed to use up my travel size Benefit High Beam cream highlighter. With strobing so in right now I used it up by mixing with my base and creating glow skin. It's a gorgeous highlighter but I'm not sure if I bought it again. Since discovering Mary-Lou not much ever compares to it.

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed this post. What have you used up recently? I want to know, so sound off in the comments below. Have you sed any of the products I mention? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading.

Unbox with me: Latest in Beauty Glamour Beauty Power List 2015

WOOHOO IT'S THE WEEKEND :) Finally the weekend is upon us and I'm happy to admit I'm planning to do as little as possible. I plan to do some fabulous makeup look and sit in my jammies and watch Netflix. That's right. Laziness in all its glory.

Today'm I'm bringing you another in the series of Unbox with me. Latest in Beauty came through with another fabulous collaboration with Glamour magazine and all treats in Glamour Beauty Power List 2015 box were personally chosen by one and only Alex Steinherr (follow her on Instagram for the beauty updates from Glamour's beauty editor). The box costs £18.99 plus P&P and it's available to buy now. Get it here before it sells out :)

This time box is silver with white, pink and black writing. It's very simple. It isn't my favourite box design to date, if I have to be honest, but what's inside definitely makes up for it. With 6 full size products and 2 samples it's definitely worth it's price and the box worth is nearly £100 :)

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in  Gladiolus is is a beautiful red with a hint of raspberry. It will make your teeth appear whiter as it's more cool toned. It has an unique gel formula making an application an instant. It transfer to the lip beautifully. I'm super pleased to be able to test it. Perfect choice for the fall.

Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream has been all over various blogs for months now. It promises to give you radiant and beautifully smooth skin in the morning. I'm looking forward to seeing if it's truly as remarkable as the producent and various review promise it to be. Fall and winter are upon us so having a great moisturiser that does the trick is a must for the upcoming months.

Kiko Velvet Touch Creamy Stick Blush in 03 is a pale pinky nude, perfectly imitating a healthy flushed cheek. It goes on creamy and dries out to powder. It appears to be super blendable. I'm not sure how it'll fit my "mostly powder" fall favourite formula but I'm excited to give it a go. Kiko has impressed me with their eyeshadow sticks and I have high expectations for this blush.

Nails Inc Nailkale Superfood Base Coat is another favourite of mine. Already famulous in the blogging world, it promises to strengthen brittle nails back to health and make then even groww faster. I applied few layers beneath shellac nails this weekend and so far I'm not experiencing any problems (as you probably know shellac should be applied to clean nails but hey, I'm a rebel lol).

Eyeko Midnight Blue Mascara is a perfect choice for fall. Blue has been a huge hit of the summer and promises to extend to fall. I personally can't wait to try it. I can see it being my personal hit for y blogging weekends where my makeup takes me to the places I may not go during the week :)

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish in Glaston-Berry is a grogeous red, perfectly complementing Revlon lipstick. Red nails are a safe bet for fall (or any other month to be honest). The only minus I see, is that I already received Glaston-Berry in one of the previous LiB boxes.

Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask is a sample I'm super happy to see in this box. 10 ml is a good sized face product sample and I'm looking forward to extending the summer glow in the autumn months. It's a gradual tanner as well, which is a formula I prefer when it comes to self tanning. It promises intense hydration, rejuvenation as well as having anti-agin benefits. I'm giving this one a definite go :)

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer in limited edition Geranium & Neroli is already a cult product. Here we get a sample of 40ml which is quite good for a hair product for most people. Unfortunately my hair is very long so this will only last me for 2 treatments max. This is pre-shampoo treatment. I've tried it before and it does make your hair so much better after the wash. Easy to style and extremely soft, these are the biggest benefits of using the product.

I rate this box as 5*. It has a perfect product selection and great treats chosen inside. As usual with Glamour collaborations, these are the boxes I truly love from LiB. I follow and adore Alex Steinherr and she hasn't disappoint.

What do you think of the new collaboration box from Latest in Beauty? Are you as excited as I am or maybe not? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

Thank you for reading.

Rebellion against the cold. Finding a dupe for MAC's Rebel featuring Makeup Revolution.

Good morning my beauties. Thank god it's Thursday. Weather prognosis for today is 16 degrees Celsius with over 50% rain. Hi, Autumn, I like you better when you're golden and sunny. I have a busy day ahead with some meetings and a little shopping treat. I'm pausing my spending ban to treat myself to few newbies :)

In my last post, I created my first autumn look with deep shading on the eye and MAC Rebel on the lip. Few of you messaged me asking if there's a dupe for Rebel and today, I'm not coming empty handed :) Not only have I found you a dupe, but I found you one that everyone can afford :) There are few differences of course but the colour of these two is identical. Stay with me to find out more.

There's a saying in blogosphere. Once you go MAC, you never go back. There's something there, I have to admit. I may not be the biggest fan of the brand. I don't get on too well with their base products for example, but when it comes to lipsticks, I am a big fan. Firstly the packaging. If you've ever owned any, you'll know what I'm talking about. Famous bullet form looks great on your vanity and in your makeup bag, it closes with characteristic soft click. It screams MAC through and through. There's so many different formulas to choose from. I have a soft spot for matte finishes but I also enjoy their satin and cream sheen finishes. Mattes are definitely more long lasting to any others but may not sit as comfortably on a lip as satin for example. All lipsticks have incredible pigmentation and last well on the lip.

Makeup Revolution launched in March 2014. Brought to us by a visionary Adam Minto and his team, it truly revolutionised the way we look at makeup. I'm a huge fan. I think their stuff is affordable and of a great quality. I have a galore of palettes, lipsticks and other bits to prove it. What I love about the company is their strong social media presence and recognition they give to the bloggers and customers. They are now famous to produce dupes for their more expensive counter products. First line of lipsticks premiered at £1 per pot and featured some incredible dupes for many MAC lipsticks. Given, the formula isn't the same and it goes without the sweet smell of a MAC, but colours are incredible and their pigmentation good. The only slight minus would be the packaging, which is where company saves the money to bring to you an incredible product at surprisingly low price. This is not a fake makeup from Ebay. They do not test on animals and I have never had a problem with allergies or anything like that (I'm prone to allergies, which is a good way of telling if the bits I'm using are truly hypoallergenic).

Today I'm bringing you two lipstick that are identical to each other in colour. MAC Rebel and Makeup Revolution Rebel With Cause are perfect for the autumn time. This is a deep purple which suits any complexion in my non professional opinion. I'm very pale and I just love these shades for autumn.

MAC Rebel is famous in a blogging world. It's the shade we all switch to for fall and winter season. It will suit any complexion but it does look beautifully on a pale skin. It brings out the colour of my pale blue/grey eyes and it's my must have for this time of year. It's colour makes your teeth appear whiter and sits comfortably on a lip as it's a satin finish. It lasts well too and fades evenly leaving your lips with a nice stain of colour. Formula is cream and goes on evenly on the lip. It doesn't bleed out as it's creamy but not too creamy when applied. Ok, it may not make sense to you but there's something there :)

MUR Rebel with Cause is a must have from the brand. Created as a perfect dupe for MAC's Rebel, it lives up to the name. No point discussing the shade as it's identical to Rebel. It needs an extra layer to ensure colour is of the same intensity. Staying power isn't great but it does stain your lips and shades out pretty evenly. Formula is definitely creamier than MAC's. I would strongly advise using the lipliner with this one, because it's so creamy it may bleed out just a tad. Colour goes evenly on a lip and with an extra layer you'll get the same intensity that of Rebel.  When swatched two of them look identical. There's a slight difference on a lip though as the finish is a little bit different.

I swatched them both for you so you can compare both hand and lip swatches here:

From the top: Rebel with Cause, Rebel
MUR Rebel with Cause - natural light, no flash
MAC Rebel - natural light, no flash
Is MAC Rebel worth it's price given you can get its identical counterpart for a friction of the price? If you are as makeup obsessed as me, yes, it's worth it. However given how well made is Rebel with Cause I'd say, if you're not sure about the statement lip go with MUR. It costs only a £1 so if you're on a budget and looking to update your makeup bag with something little different, there's really no question which one you should go for. I am however a lipstick hoarder and I'm glad to have both of them in my collection. I love finding a perfect dupe and here's the amazing example of it.

You can buy MUR's Rebel with Cause here and stationary in Superdrug as well as online.

For MAC Cosmetics Rebel click here but you can also get it in both Selfridges and Debenhams stationary and online.

Hello Autumn. MAC Rebel and Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 in action.

Happy Tuesday my Lovelies. Weather outside is truly remainding me of Autumn so I thought, it's time to share this makeup look I created recently. Deep browns, pomegranate and golds mixed together topped up by MAC Rebel on the lips.

I like Autumn. Gold leaves, cute jackets, autumn wardrobe. I'm all for it. Ability to wear MAC Rebel daily? Yes please. I find that autumn colours suit me well, with my pale blue/grey eyes anything so deep makes them pop beautifully. This look isn't perfect, it's messy. I saw messy brows on catwalks everywhere and here you have them too. It's me re-discovering grunge in a way, making sure everything is just a step away from perfect. My lips, my brows, my eyes. Base isn't full cover either, allowing my skin to show. I really hope you like it. As usual I appreciate your feedback so please let me know what you think in the comments below :)

As usual I started with base and I applied Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue to cover the redness. It has minimum coverage but it makes my skin look really radiant and I like it. I skipped concealer. I wanted to show a little darkness under the eye. Autumn mixed with heroin chic. I set the base with a little of MUA's Prime & Correct Powder. I tried to use a lot of budget brushes in this look. I wanted to stay away from my usual Zoeva/Real Techniques/Beauty Blender mix. I applied my base with my fingers and used Wilko's Powder Brush (RPR £4) to set it with powder. I used a little of Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in Nude to finish off my face.

My favourite part was working on the eyes. I wanted it to be a mixture of heroin chic/autumn/catwalk style makeup. I started with a primer and used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate as base. I love this colour for autumn and if you have pale blue/grey/green eyes, this one alone will make it pop. I applied it to the mobile lid and blended it out above the crease. I then went in to Iconic Pro palette which is a perfect one for this time of year. I used Drama - medium matte brown shade to blend just above the crease (for those lucky ones without sad eyes, you want to blend this in the crease instead). I then used Afflicted deep matte brown with a  hint of burgundy to deepen the "crease" and the outer corner. I wanted shine so I used Stage - deep shimmer brown with burgundy on the middle of the mobile lid to accentuate the look. I then used Getter - deep gold with a  bit of antique feel to it, to blend Stage out towards the inner corner. I finished off the inner corner with a Dawn and Breathe. I replicated all of the above at the bottom lid with an exception of the inner corner that I left matte and white using Ghost shade from the palette. I finished my eyelashes with two coats of my Clinique High Impact Mascara. I used an old Lancome Mascara wand to brush out my brows in different directions and filled them in ever so slightly with Frisk shade from Naked 2 Basics palette. This whole look was created using Makeup Revolution eye brushes with a little help of one Zoeva brush to blend out a matte white shade to clean it up a little bit.

I wanted my lips to look a little undone so I didn't use a lip liner to fill them in. I used MAC Rebel directly from a tub and made sure the insights of my lips are not fully filled in. It gives this beautiful colour the finish I wanted. Little grunge, little heroin chic.

I hope you like my newest invention. Please let me know in the comments below what are your favourite autumn products. This look is little undone, little me in every way.

Thank you for reading.

Magic in a jar. Why Glam Glow Youth Mud is worth every penny?

Hello my lovelies. Sunday post is a little delayed this week. I had some problems with auto-publishing, which made me not only miss the Saturday post, but only just realised Sunday post is still not up. First world problems right? I don't know about you, but I had a very strange end to the week, little emotional. The weekend came and brought a good weather spell and my mood lifted. Thank you sun for making my problems go away :)

Today I'd like to talk about my incredible discovery, that is Glam Glow Youth Mud Mask. It literally changed the way I view my skincare. I don't shy away from spending a little extra, when it comes to product I put directly on my face. Be this a designer foundation or luxury skincare. Whilst skincare is a personal choice, I think this mask is an exception to the rule. I began testing it around 2 months ago and loved it from a first result. When first applied, it tingles. It makes you wonder if those £50 you spend on this tiny, tiny jar was even worth it, if you suddenly allergic to the thing? Let me tell you. It is worth it :) It's worth every 4999 pennies I spent on it.

Firstly let's talk my history with Glam Glow. Youth Mud originated from US where we first heard about it by celebrities raving about how amazing this product is. I always take these reviews with a pinch of salt. Unless I try something myself, I will never fully believe the reviews of others. I'm not taking being paid for reviews. In modern world, where bloggers spent a huge time of their life testing new products, you can't blame anyone for making money from it. Would you like to work for free your entire life? No, you wouldn't. Whenever I get free PR samples, I talk about it in the same way, as I would, when I paid for something myself. As I mentioned previously skincare is such a personal choice, it's impossible to form an opinion without testing it on your own. To make my review even more comprehensive, I gave out samples of Youth Mud to my friend and my mother. Here's why. I have a very dry, slightly dehydrated skin. I'm 30 years old and have slight lines on my forehead. My skin doesn't break out often. My friend skin is on an opposite end of the scale. She's combination with tendencies to nearly constant breakouts. She's little younger too, but with lines formed around her eyes. Then my lovely mom, who celebrated her 58th Birthday this year. She's a fabulous little lady with dry skin and lots of lines, some quite deep, especially around forehead. I wanted to really check if Youth Mud is such a miracle, as described on their website.

Let's talk about that for a bit. It describes the product in a very high praise:

This performance driven super mask is an absolute must for those who seek the highest quality ingredients and exceptional results, even if you have never used a mask before – YOUTHMUD is unique. It doesn't just take care of one skin concern,it delivers everything you need for great skin, whatever your skin type.
YOUTHMUD delivers both instant and cumulative results and leaves your complexion revived and glowing for 3 days after each application. With its heritage in Hollywood film studios, YOUTHMUD has flown off the shelves stateside and is now available in the UK.

Here's what I discovered through months of testing:

1. Packaging. In this smart, beautifully designed jar, you will find 50g of the product. I wish, it was a little more, as the price is quite hefty. I use a fair amount to cover my face but I still have around half the jar left after 2 months of using it 3-4 times every fortnight.

2. Formula. It has slight herbal scent to it but it's not overpowering. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me at all. It's of a greyish colour with peeling bits mixed in. When you apply it, it starts to tingle, but the feeling goes away 1-2 minutes in the treatment. You supposed to leave it on for 10 minutes. I sometimes leave it on for longer, especially if my Youth Mud night is my spa night and I get in a tub with it. I didn't see any side effects after keeping it on for 20 minutes. When you take it off, you supposed to massage it off your skin with water or hot cloth, giving your face a scrub of a lifetime. Your skin will thank you for it. It contains no artificial colours or fragrances. It's suitable for vegans, 100% paragon free and also cruelty free. It's a winner :)

3. Results. All three of us cannot praise this enough. I can see a vast improvement in the quality of my skin. It's giving you an instant lifting effect, fills in any small fine lines and improves skin colour. Goodbye dry patches, goodbye tired skin. Just look at me and my glow. Effects last around 2-3 days but I find that with the continuous use, my skin has definitely improved. My lovely friend has also fell in love with the product. She says, it absorbs the oils but without dehydrating her skin. She saw an improvement in her pores after just one use. They seem tighter. Her skin cleared out slightly after 2 weeks of use. She has now purchased the full size jar and also another mask from Glam Glow. Youth Mud won her over. My mom also saw instant results. Her skin feels tighter and lines seem to be more "relaxed" She uses the mask now every 3 days or even in the morning before any important day for an instant lift.

I fell in love with Youth Mud instantly. I find that it works best if used regularly. However you can also use it as an instant lift and brightener before an important day at work or a date :)

Is it worth the price? 100% yes. This is the first mask I fell in love with instantly. It doesn't just deliver instant results. In time your skin becomes something you haven't seen since you were much, much younger. My skin feels tighter, my little lines nearly non existent. It's an incredible purchase.

It's now available in UK and I bought mine from Look Fantastic. Watch out for promotions as I now ordered two more recently with -£10.00 of each. Check it out here, as the offer is still available.

What do you think? Have you ever used Glam Glow products? Have you used Youth Mud yet? I want to know what your thoughts are, so sound off in the comments below :)

Thank you for reading.

Unbox with me: Birchbox September 2015

Hello ladies. I'm writing this up on a sunny Sunday, but you will be reading this on a Thursday. And it's sunny. In UK!! Yes, you read that right. I'm in my garden enjoying the rays. I had a lovely weekend, attended an awesome birthday party so I'm feeling a little under the weather (Hangover is a bitch lol). Blog has to go on, so I sat down to write up few posts :)

Happy Thursday to you all. Weekend is nearly upon us. We're also nearly in the middle of September. How and when has this year gone? I just had my Birchbox delivered and it's a funny one this month. I had nothing, but praise for all my boxes ,so far but this one gets a meh from me.

Starting with packaging. I'm a boxoholic. I love collecting boxes, as they make a great storage. This month I was less than pleased with the design - just meh and the fact my box was broken. Straight to the bin it went. I don't know, if it was broken during a delivery, or the packaging process, but it left me less than impressed. Not much work went in to the design either. Considering it's a Birchbox birthday, I expected a bit more, I guess.

As per usual beauty treats came packaged in a little linen bag, which I find lovely. I keep these for travel. I really, really like that about Birchbox. Inside you'll find 6 beauty samples, promising us to shake up our beauty regime, American style.

I'll start with my favourites. I love Laura Mercier. I currently use the foundation primer and I'm in love with the formula. Separate review coming soon. So I was pleasantly surprised to find a sample of Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish. As samples go this one is on a medium size scale, being 11.3 g (what's wrong with ml, that's all I'm asking lol). It smells really lovely and peeling isn't too rough so it should be lovely to use. I'll definitely give this a go and report back :) Full size product will set you back by £26.

I wanted to try Benefit POREfessional Licence To Blot for a while now. I don't mind a little glow on my T-Zone but I'll definitely would like to try this out. It's a small yet usable sample. It's an instant oil-bloating stick which can be used as a primer or on top of makeup. Because it's in a stick form, I'm not sure how hygienic it will be to use on top of makeup. I'm more used to bloating papers in that way but I'll give it a go, as I've read a lot of positive reviews on countless blogs already. Full size product is £15.50 and available on Benefits counters.

I have a love-hate relationship with my hair. I recently updated my colour and added a lot more blond to it, ombre style. My hair is naturally curly and it tangles easily. I use Tangle Teezer and it makes it easier to detangle but I sometimes need a detangling spray as well. This month I get to try John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler. It's ingredients list is actually impressive and a lot is certified organic. It's also a good size sample - 30ml. It smells of citrus fruits, which I love, and I hope it won't be weighting my hair down, as it's of a cream consistency. Full size RPR is £16.

This is where things go a little south for me. To continue with hair regime, beauty bonus this month is The Birchbrush RPR 5.99. It's obviously a dupe for Tangle Teezer, so I was really happy to see a brush in a box. That is until I tried to actually brush my hair with it... Hmmm... Its bristles are harder and less flexible than Tangle Teezer and it ended up breaking my hair. Not impressed at all. I passed it on to my mum who has short hair and says it's not bad for her.

Meh product of the month is Beauty Protector Body Wash. I like the packaging (pink on white). I love the smell. What makes t meh is a sample size. It will last you for a wash or two, which isn't great. For that reason alone it only gets a meh. It lands in my future travel box, where it awaits its use :) Full size RPR £8.

Lastly the product I should have loved but unfortunately hate. I love makeup, so it's very disappointing, that one actual makeup sample this month, I end up hating. Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip in Cray-Cray is not a cheap product as full size RPR is £17. I love lip pencils normally. I also love soft matte finishes. I don't love the colour as orange peach does not look good on me. But the formula is, what I hate about it. It goes on patchy. It clings on to all your dry skin. The finished look is just horrible. It swatches nicely, colour is vibrant and pigmented ,so what went wrong here? It's a total no from me, I'm afraid.

This month's Birchbox didn't wow me. The mixture of products is ok but with the lip pencil being so horrible, body wash sample so small and hair brush unusable, the rest of samples don't stand a chance to completely wow me. I'm glad to find Benefit in the mix as well as trying out a new detangling product. Even Laura Mercier, which I adore as a brand, is only a face scrub. I would rather see a makeup sample here.

What do you think my lovelies? Has this month's box impressed you or have you had mixed feeling as I have? Let me know in the comments below which product would get your vote :)

Thank you for reading.

Weekday me. What's in my makeup bag. Spending ban edition #3

Today's the day. I lasted a full month on a spending ban I placed upon myself. I'm super pleased with myself and my bank account is thanking me too :) It's been difficult. New bits are coming out and autumn is upon us but I'm soldiering through. I finally have a chance to start using makeup that I bought and never even had a chance to swatch yet or to rediscover bits in my collection that I used to love, yet with constant buying, don't get the love and attention they deserve.

This is a 3rd post in my Weekday me series and I have a lot of love from you so I'd like to thank you for your lovely comments, messages and likes :)

Summer is over. Kids are back at school and autumn is slowly creeping in upon us. I created a daytime look that I'm loving at the moment. It's full of shimmer, has a little colour but it's very wearable. It reminds me of a hot summer day so I'm trying to brace not too summery weather with it :)

I decided to give some love to my Naked 2 palette. I have it since Christmas and honestly did not get too much use out of. It's a beautiful palette full of neutral and warm tones. Gorgeous shimmers lead the way here. For this makeup look I used more of cool tones shades from the palette : Tease which is a matte taupe and Verve which is a light taupe shimmer, absolutely gorgeous :)

As I'm still a little tanned thanks to self tanner I picked up Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation from a drawer. I have it in the lightest shade Ivoire but it's still a little dark for me on my pale days so thought now it's the time to use it up :) I am still on crossroads with this foundation and it requires me to really prep my base as it can cling to dry skin. But with good priming it looks lovely. It's very light, gives good amount of coverage and lasts well on me. I don't set it down with powder as it dries out to nearly powder finish.

To give my face a little shape I've been loving KOBO Matt Bronzing and Counturing Powder. It's light and cool toned. Perfect to give your face a light contour. I have mine in shade Sahara Sand and have been loving it !!! It's a shame about the writing on packaging as I only had it few months and it's already coming off but for a budget product it's ok, I guess. I like the formula, it blends beautifully and it's one of not many bronzers that are true cool tone.

To give my cheeks a little colour and life I've been loving The Matte Blush from Makeup Revolution. The new formula works great for me. This time I picked up Divine which gives me a lovely flush to the cheeks and it's so light :)As with Kobo bronzer the writing on packaging is already coming off, which is a shame, but I really like the product anyway.

Brand new product is my newest purchase (from before I placed spending ban on myself) but only just recently delivered. Thanks to my lovely friend from Poland who bought and sent me some new Ingot bits recently. One of them is Ingot Pure Pigment Eyeshadow is shade 91, from a limited collection Mamma Mia. This is so gorgeous as it's white but also opalescent. It looks like blue in daylight lighting and it's just beautiful.

I also picked up forgotten Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and on bronze. It's my favourite shade of all and it looks beautifully on it's own. Lasts well, doesn't crease throughout the day. Makes for easiest eye makeup :)

I got MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes in Midnight Storm in one of the Glossyboxes and it's been well loved in the beginning of summer. This time I used the darker blue shade to create the look but I really like this due liner/eyeshadow. It stays on pretty well too on my waterline.

Mascara of choice is still Clinique High Impact Mascara and as I already have a review on it, I still love it. It gives me length and volume but also looks very natural. Still my big love at the moment.

I created a light daytime look with a hint of colour. Top lid is all about Colour Tattoo in On and on bronze that I applied with a  fluffy brush. I blended it out in the crease using Tease from Naked 2 palette and added a little Blackout to my eyelashes line, not to line them per se but just to add volume to lashes :) I lined my waterline with Enchanted Eyes, the darker blue shade from the due and blended it out underneath with Tease again. I then added Verve to ensure final look is as sparkly as possible. I added Mamma Mia pigment to my inner corners blending it slightly towards the middle. Finished lashes with 2 coats of Clinique mascara and brushed through brows with I Tint My Brows in Fairest by Makeup Revolution.

My base is flawless thanks to the Maybelline foundation. I added contour by using Kobo Bronzer and little colour from Divine by Makeup Revolution.

There you have the finished look. It has a lot of shimmer, reminds me of beautiful sunny days. I hope you like it. It's perfect for daytime and I love it.

Thank you for reading.

I ♥ makeup. My August beauty favourites.

The time has come to choose the beauty treats I've been enjoying this past month. I love August. August it's my birthday month and birthday means a lot of quality time spent with friends and family. I recently took a blogging/social media week long break and guess what? I loved it. I missed my online family of course but it was great to spend some time with people who love me :)

Back to beauty favourites. August has been definitely a defining month. As I embarked on first successful month on spending ban I had a chance to rediscover my existing favourites, as well as falling in love with new treats I haven't had a chance to properly test before.

Let's start with makeup. Makeup is something that made me fall in love with beauty. First came makeup then skincare and the awareness of what I use on a daily basic. But it all began with makeup :)

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue was my Latest in Beauty discovery (review of Heart Beauty Essentials here). We got to try sample of this tinted moisturiser and even though colour wasn't my match, I fell in love instantly with the formula so when Look Fantastic was having -20% sale I took a plunge and ordered full size. I chose the lightest shade praying it will be light enough and hallelujah but Opal turned out to be a perfect match (THANK YOU ONLINE SHOPPING GODS). I must say, it's been a while since I enjoyed tinted moisturiser so much. I'm normally all for coverage but recently I just don't need it as much. It gives some coverage, I apply it with fingers (I know, I shocked myself, believe me!!!!), it feels like a moisturising cream and looks flawlessly nearly all day (if set with a little powder). So if you all about that glow. Go for it. Available here for £26.00.

Talking about powder. This little gem won't break the bank as it's only £4.00 and already my favourite. MUA Pro-Base Prime and Conceal Correcting Powder is something else entirely. So if it's glory finish you're after and can't afford Hourglass powders go for this one. It's available in your local Superdrug and at less that £5 it's a steal. Formula is great, it's very finely milled. You can't go wrong. And I just did a full on review so if you'd like to know more just click here. You can buy it here if you've been on a look out for that perfect setting powder that won't break the bank.

Urban Decay Naked 3 was a palette of choice for the month of August. I must say, it's been a while since I last used it and it was a pleasure to re-discover it and to remind myself why I fell in love with it in the first place. I did few looks using this palette. Check them out (look 1, look 2, look 3). So if you're on a lookout for a good rose toned palette, look no further. Available here for £38.00.

I was pleasantly surprised by the next favourite of August. It was mascara and believe me I didn't think I'm going to like it. I judged the book by its cover or mascara by its brush ;) But I must say, I adore this one. Clinique High Impact Mascara is an incredible buy. It just works. I even did a whole review on it (here) and believe me when I say, it was unexpected. Mascara is a very personal choice yet when I posted to brag about it on Instagram many of you told me it's been your favourite too :)

Last makeup item had to be a lip product. As a lipstick hoarder I can't go without my statement lip. This month my most worn shade and product was a Bourjois already iconic item. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Frambourjoise is something i'll never attempt to pronounce. It's a gorgeous shade, it lasts incredibly well and it's my most loved shade of the month. You heard it everywhere, read about it on countless blogs and for a good reason. Does it dry out your lips. Of course. It's matte and long-lasting. So make sure you do not skip a balm before application and a lot of love in the evening and you'll be fine. So dinner, drinks and maybe a kiss or two - It'll stay on, it's that good. Available here for £8.99.

I have one skincare favourite this month and it's something I've been testing for a while now. Glamglow Youth Mud Face Mask is a pricey item. However let me tell you a little story. I remember the time when I used it first. I applied it and few seconds later I was terrified. It tingled on my face, making me feel paranoid that I must be allergic or something. Good thing I soldiered through as after 10 minutes on I washed it off and looked in the mirror. There's this one wrinkle that I hate on my forehead. One use. 10 minutes and it was gone. Ok, it's not a deep wrinkle, I'm only 30 (enter crying emoticon here) but I swear to god, it was gone. The effect lasted for good few days as well. Now I use it once weekly on my spa nights :). It's an intense mask and it brings instant results. Is it worth £49.99? I'd say so as I'm already planning to repurchase. Available here.

Lastly it's a budget item. It's also widely available. I love my bath time. I must have mentioned it many times but I'm a definitely a bath person. Sure showers are nice but a good bath... Ah LOVE IT. I always use a bath bubble and I love when it smells lovely. I also love chocolate. I can't eat it too much (flat tummy deserves a sacrifice) but just imagine going in to a bathtub with whole bathroom smelling of cocoa. Dream right? For less than £4, you can realise that dream. Avon's Planet SPA Chocolate Bath Elixir is something everyone should try at least once. It's my heaven, my nirvana. Exaggerating much? Of course. I am a bath person for a reason ;) lol.

I hope you enjoyed the roundup of my monthly favourites. Looking forward to discovering yours. Leave me a comment below and tell me what you've been loving this month :)

Thanks for reading.
