APRIL EDIT: GLOW ON BUDGET, HAPPY SKIN & 13 REASONS WHY

I can't believe it's 1st of May today. I'm definitely enjoying some time off, given I worked every waking hour of April. It's been a long month that's for sure and I welcome May with open arms. Heavy work schedule meant reducing the time I was able to spend on the blog, but I hope to be back on schedule now. I also have a couple of giveaways coming this week, so keep your eyes peeled for that. April has definitely left me tired but I spent my month testing few incredible products and I hope you'll love them too. I picked up products I used all of April, so in terms of recent hauls, I am still testing all the makeup and I'll share more in-depth reviews with you very soon. Without further ado, let's see what I've been loving last month! <3

GLOW ON THE BUDGET & OTHER PICKS

Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss in Ice Kiss | RPR £5.00 | POST

If you're on a look-out for almost white highlight with a subtle pale gold sheen, check out the new Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss in Ice Kiss. I adore the formula, it reminds me a lot of Jeffree Star highlighters and costs only £5.00!! Drugstore makeup came a long way and Makeup Revolution truly started the process. Finding a great highlighter at this price was unknown for even 2 years ago and now? I love this highlighter for day and night as one swipe gives me a gorgeous natural glow and it's  build-able if you like to blind people with your glow! I wrote about it HERE if you'd like to see more!

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Glow | RPR £8.00 | POST

I absolutely adore this contour & highlight duo. Not only is the packaging well made and on point but the formula of both bronzer and highlight buttery and well pigmented. The products blend beautifully and stay put all day. It's a perfect add-on to any makeup bag, due to the size (small enough!) and how beautiful the packaging is. I really enjoyed using it for most of the month, especially the bronzer! I love how neutral in tone it is, makes for a perfect contour or bronzer for pale and cool toned complexion. I already wrote about it - POST - if you'd like to see swatches. I highly recommend picking it up, if you're on the budget but looking for quality bronzer/highlight duo.

EcoTools Powder/Blush Brush | part of Six Piece Starter Set RPR £11.09

I got this brush as part of my April's Love Me Beauty subscription and I loved it for bronzer and blush application last month. The brush has dome-like cut and super soft bristles making blending a joy! It's super easy to add just a touch of blush to the cheeks as the brush is super soft and not too dense. I have been really impressed with EcoTools recently and received quite a few brushes to test, so I'll be fully reviewing each one for you so watch this space! For now, I have a couple of definite faves and Powder/Blush Brush is definitely one of them!

EcoTools Precision Brush | RPR £6.37

Another brush I got via Love Me Beauty subscription. My Precision Brush is part of old look for EcoTools and you can get in now in the new theme. Mine's already super soft but given I can now compare it to the new brushes, I know the bristles are even softer. Precision Brush has almost square cut bristles making contour application a bliss. It's easy to apply contour bronzer with and it creates almost a line, whilst blending it with ease at the same time. I may need to treat myself to the newer version to compare, but for now, I'm happy with the one I have. I haven't used any other brish for bronzer in ages.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette | RPR £39.00 | POST

I have had the palette for a couple of months now but it's been my go-to for eyeshadow in April. I opted for light peachy eyes a lot, given I worked a lot of hours, I kept my eyes pretty simple all month. Thanks to Sweet Peach, I managed to keep my looks fresh and different as the palette gives so many different options. Shades like White Peach, Luscious, Candied Peach, Bellini, Bless Her Heart, Puree, Georgia, Charmed I'm Sure and Summer Yum are my definite favourites and I've been loving creating different looks with them every day. Plus I love the scent! It's so lovely!

HAPPY SKIN SKINCARE

The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F | RPR £15.00

I talked to you recently about another Ordinary Vit C based serum - POST - but since discovered
Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F Serum and it completely revolutionised what I know about Vitamin C serums. Vitamin C is very unstable so adding it to cosmetics isn't easy as it usually leaves a powder finish which rolls under makeup or other skincare. Not with this serum! Vitamins C and F are stabilised in this dry oil formula. It makes for perfect addition not only to evening skincare but also in the morning. I love how brightening it is and after few weeks of use I can almost see the glow from within! It's the most expensive from the vitamin C based serums in Ordinary range, but worth it! I'll have my updated skincare routine post for you very soon, where I'll talk you through the formula and active ingredients, so keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks.

Mokosh Green Tea Corrective Eye Cream* | RPR £34.00 for 30ml

I recently added Mokosh skincare to my natural skincare store and the feedback's been great. Customers love the packaging and so do I! Mokosh is where natural skincare meets luxury with mid-range prices. I've been testing it too and I love Mokosh Green Tea Corrective Eye Cream. The formula feels rich and lovely, yet sinks in quickly leaving eye area hydrated but also ready for next steps. Also, the packaging comes with 30 ml of the product so if you hate how small your usual eye cream is, this will be the one for you! The cream is lightly scented but the scent doesn't linger and my delicate skin and eyes haven't reacted to it. It brightens my under eyes and is great both morning and evening. I usually top it up with oils for the evening and on its own in the morning.  I'll be talking about a whole skincare set from Mokosh soon, so watch this space, but so far I love what I'm seeing!

Merumaya Lip Line Restoration Treatment* | RPR £19.50 for 9ml

I have a post going live on it on Wednesday, so I'll save my lengthy review for then. This lip treatment is something else entirely. The dry rich cream formula fills in any lip lines instantly once patted on and makes for a fuller pout. Being a dry finish it still keeps your lips hydrated and preps well for the lipstick in the morning. Definitely for those who hate the stickiness and residue of the lip balms/oils. Perfect for the morning lip prep, if you ask me!

HAIR & BODY

Wella System Professional Luxe Oil Reconstructive Serum | RPR £25.00 for 100ml

I've discovered this dry hair oil during the event at Sixth Sense Salon - POST - and I honestly can't get enough. It smells lovely, with notes of vanilla mixed in. It makes my hair ultra smooth, it's difficult to describe really. It can be used for wet and dry hair but I prefer using it on wet hair before any heat. If used at night, you'll wake up with the softest strands ever! Can't recommend it enough!

Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner | RPR £24.95 for 225ml

I don't love body moisturisers. I find the process of application annoying, too long and just not worth the hassle. My skin body wise is normal to dry so I can't really skip this step completely, so I use in shower body lotions or spray lotions instead. I found this Lush Body Moisturiser to work well for my skin. It's super nourishing and leaves my skin feeling moisturised. I apply it generously all over my body in shower or after the bath, wash it off and then pat my body dry. I use it daily or every other day in the evening and find my skin to be moisturised the next morning. I usually use a spray moisturiser for the morning, as finding time to fully moisturise is tricky. I really enjoy using Lush Body Moisturiser and can't wait to try more scents next time!

Netflix 13 Reasons Why | subscription £8.99 per month

It's difficult to describe this TV series by Netflix. 13 Reasons Why has captivated audiences across the globe with the important message regarding mental illness, cyber bullying, rape and teenage suicide. The subjects never to treat lightly are portrayed in such real and painful way, you will find yourself going back in time and reliving your own issues you've faced back in high school/college. I worried that the mental illness will be shown in infantile way, given the high school orientated drama. I was wrong and I'm glad in a way. Such hard subjects need to be shown in ways that are real and pure. 13 Reasons Why has managed to take on taboo subjects and brought them to life in the most excrutiating way. I won't say I enjoyed watching it, because I didn't. Every episode was super hard to watch and difficult to comprehend. The tragedy of loosing someone close to you is shown in portraying the loss of child for the parents, for friends and enemies. All of which culminates in the last episode where we see a broken girl taking her life. It's not pretty, it's very vivid and will probbaly be a trigger for many. I appreciated the way it was shown, because it was important not only for the storyline, but also as a warning to us all.

Thank You For Reading,
Love

  1. I love the sound of the A T solution from The Ordinary as their other Vitamin C suspension shares quite strange texture - it's a bit grainy so you can only use it a night time. Xx

  6. I am so wary of The Ordinary serums after suffering the worst breakout of my life with the serums but you convinced me to give this a try. It sounds lovely and I love a good Fit C serum. I adore Ecotools brushes and am so impressed with the eyebrow duo set! I will check how much it is the powder brush, I'm lucky that I get 20% through work. :-P
