I am a very cynical person when it comes to products offering to "transform me' in a specific time frame. I have never believed in supplements until my beauty guru, Alexandra Steinherr started singing praise. I became intrigued. If you ever get to see Alex in person, you'll see how amazing her skin, hair and nails are. I mean, the woman is a perfection. I started my research and decided I need to give it a go. This when an opportunity came knocking and a beauty collaboration with Silidyn happened. I'm always upfront with you guys regarding any collaboration and as usual, this is not a sponsored content, neither I promised to actually write a post about it. It was just as simple as, try and let us know what you think. I have taken my time and spent 6 weeks testing the product. I made notes and I come to you with my thoughts on how Silidyn have changed my morning 'beauty from within' routine.
As you know beauty doesn't start with makeup, it doesn't even start with skincare. Beauty starts with our diet, amount of water we drink (who's doing 3 litre a day challenge with me this year girls?), our life choices, genetics and many more. I used to smoke, I'm not particularly proud or ashamed. I was young, I was stupid and I was an addict. In the last couple of years I have introduced a more healthy way of living to my routine. My health demanded it. As part of my morning routine, I drink glass of orange juice (vit C), I take my vitamins (B complex, D3 and Folic Acid), I drink aloe juice. It helped any issues I have had with my stomach, it reduced the feeling I'm tired all the time, I become a little more energetic. I wanted to introduce a specific supplement which would help me as a woman. Us women are prone to bone diseases, osteoporosis being the one I was most afraid off. I'm nowhere near the age to worry about this stuff, but having had the illness in the close family (my grandmother and mother), I knew that simply adding Vit D3 will not be enough.
Let's start with the basics. Silidyn (RPR £19.95, currently on offer 2 for 1) is made from highly bio-available Ortho Silicic Acid (OSA). Liquid form means for an enhanced absorption by our bodies. It's basically a silicon in the supplement form. Silicon is one of the most available minerals on earth. It has proven health benefits. This is where it gets a little complicated. Despite the availability, it's not bio-available, which translates to, we are not getting the amounts our body needs to function at its best through diet or water. Silidyn contains the uniquely bio-available form of silicon. The liquid form when mixed with water or juice transforms the stabilised silicon into an easily absorbable Ortho Silicic Acid.
Using Silidyn could not be easier. As I usually drink a glass of juice in the morning, I mix 8-10 drops of the formula with my drink before food. It ensure my body absorbs the product fully. Silicon is super important to maintaining the health of our bones but also is proven to improve on the appearance of our skin, hair and nails. Beauty from within starts with few little drops.
I have started my affair with the product 6 weeks ago and have been noting the subtle benefits I've observed:
Week 1
At the end of week one I observed a little less hair day on a hairbrush. It wasn't anything major and I dismissed it as a placebo effect. At that point no difference in my nails, health and hair has been observed by me.
Week 2
I started noticing more benefits as the days gone. At the end of week 2 I was convinced I am not loosing as much hair with daily brushing. I also started noting the difference in my skin. It was nothing major though.
Week 3
With the dreadful weather outside and some stress at work, I noticed I was the only one that didn't get the stomach bug going around. I'm sure it's a combination of things, but being a sickly person with virtually non existent immune system, I was quite surprised. At this point the hair fallout stopped at the same range as at the end of week 2. I noticed a subtle difference in my skin too.
Week 4
Another changes in hair loss, at the point of hitting a near month of the Silidyn trial I'm clearly seeing not only a reduced hair loss but I'm starting to notice baby hair more. It seems as my nails are just a little stronger but again this could be a combination of things. Whilst everyone at work is either still ill, I haven't even catch a cold. I feel better as well. It seems like the pains in my joints (my joints react badly to 100% humidity we've been enjoying recently) became less of a hassle.
Week 5
I'm convinced now my nails have gotten stronger, they look healthier. The hair loss is at the minimum and I get a bit more shine to it than usual. I feel great, no muscle and joint pains, which is amazing for this time of year. My skin looks more plump and radiant.
Week 6
In two days I'll have completed my trial period. I truly see the difference. Yes it's nothing miraculous but for someone who's been loosing a full hairbrush of hair in couple of days I went down by at least 50%. My nails are stronger. They're the least visible of the effects as the most I see a difference in are my skin and hair.
In overview I have enjoyed using my trial and I know I will continue with Silidyn, as I feel my journey have only just started.
