WHAT'S IN MY BAG | KURT GEIGER NATURAL OPAL STUD XBODY BAG

I needed (ok, wanted) new bag for quite some time. Then one evening I came about this gorgeous Kurt Geiger Opal Stud XBody Bag and was sold instantly. This nude coloured Opal Stud XBody Bag is structured and sturdy with multicoloured studs (black, milky beige and gold) and gold details including a beautiful chain with nude faux leather handles. Also available in black HERE.

Inside Carvela logo is embellished on black satin material with faux letter details. It's quite roomy and makes for a perfect daytime bag! It's got one small pocket, perfect for keys, cards or train pass.

It must come as no surprise that I tend to carry a lot with me. I had reduced a size of my makeup bag significantly and only carry the essentials with me now. I know for some it'll still be excessive but for those of you in the beauty community, you should be able to appreciate how little I take with me!
I love my Love Me Beauty makeup bag - POST - and carry my beauty essentials in it.

Starting with the most essential item, my mini Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. I love being able to carry this with me and it truly became a staple of some sorts! I hope I'll be able to re-purchase it this size. It's probably the best (and most expensive! RPR £36.00 for 286ml) dry shampoo I used to date. It doesn't leave the white powder after application which is a plus on a daily! It works in seconds (seriously!) and doesn't make my hair too matte either. It gives volume and refreshes hair instantly. Definitely, one to watch as I've fallen in love with it from the first application.

Next up is Blotterazzi by Beauty Blender. It's a slim sponge that removes any shine and excessive sebum from my T-Zone. Even drier types experience some excessive shine from time to time and I'm prone to little glow after oh so many hours in the office. I never really liked using blotting papers and was super pleased to receive the Blotterazzi in my Advent Calendar. It quickly replaced my powders as I find I don't really need to add anything to my makeup once it's done in the morning. And if I go a teensy too shiny, Blotterazzi is there to lend a helping hand. RPR £16.00 for 2.

I don't know about you, but I can't survive without a hand cream. I have one in my bag, on my vanity, in the kitchen, bathroom, at work... Yes, I know! I find that my hands can go really dry and I need constant top ups (or I'm just crazy!). I normally receive a lot of body cream samples and use these instead, but all my samples seem to disappear quickly and I had to resort to buying an actual hand cream LOL. I was in The Body Shop recently and the scent that truly got my senses going was Fuji Green Tea & I picked up their Mini Hand Cream (RPR 4.00 for 30ml). The tub is lovely and small, perfect for travel as it doesn't take much space in the bag! The scent is incredible, citrusy but fresh, but if you know the range you know exactly what I'm talking about! Green tea gives this cream a serious flavour punch plus the formula is light & sinks in almost instantly!

On the subject of scents, I don't ever go without a mini perfume and lately the total fave of mine is Victor & Rolf Bonbon. Named after a candy aims at modern woman who enjoys the pleasures of life, self-indulgence and relaxation. The bottle is shaped as wrapped candy, although it reminds me more of a ribbon. The scent is strong and sweet with key notes of caramel, mandarin, orange & peach. The sweet fruit trend is followed by heart notes of orange blossom & jasmine. The base notes are warm and musky with cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood and amber. I get so many compliments when wearing this scent and as with any V&R fragrancesC this one too lasts for many hours and is easily detectable on clothing for absolute ages too! RPR from £52.00 to £99.00.

My makeup bag also hides one too many lipsticks as I love a choice! These change quite often but my newest lip purchases are usually there for a bit so I can test them thoroughly! Nude lip liner is a must and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk has been a favourite of mine for a while now. Creamy formula glides on the lips, leaving them only slightly sticky. A perfect base for a lippy! Browns and pinks come together in this slightly pinky nude. It's by far my most used lip liner and it goes with many of my nude lipsticks! RPR £16.00

I've been cheating on matte lipsticks & liquid lippies lately. I've been choosing lighter and creamier formulas instead. These aren't as lasting but given how moisturising they are, I forgive them the lasting power. MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Kittenish is a gorgeous light glossy dusty rose. I love rose shades for daytime and the formula is ultra moisturising as well. The crayon-like bullet makes for the easiest application and I use it like a lip balm in days when I go for a sultry daytime smokey eye for example. It'll last for good 3 hours and gives moisture for twice as long too! The finish is more on a sheer side but still packs a Pigment punch, so if you love a lighter formula for spring, I highly recommend it! RPR £18.00.

Quite new in my collection is Burts Bees Lipstick in Blush Basin 501. The plastic packaging is all matte, feels light but also well made & is made from recycled materials (up to 60%!). This 100% natural lippy is formulated with ultra moisturising Moringa and Rasberry Seed Oils. The shade packs a punch of colour and has a glossy feel to it. It goes on the lips so smoothly and keeps them hydrated for hours! I really love the shade too, it's a light to medium nude with peachy & pinky tones, perfect for this time of year. It's been a while since I wore a lipstick that's so comfortable. Yes, it transfers and won't last too long (3-4 hours tops) but for the sake of hydrated lips, I'll take it. The only small con is that the lip bullet doesn't fully screws down, so you need to be careful when putting the lid on not to touch it! The packaging is also longer and takes some getting used to as you handle it slightly differently when applying the lipstick! All in all, I am loving this new release. Well done Burts Bees! RPR £9.99.

Also super new in my makeup bag is the L'Oreal Color Riche Matte in 346 Scarlet Silhouette. I'm not sure I captured the embellished matte black packaging but it's so pretty and unique with gold detail. I adore this shade! It's opaque semi-matte finish last well enough on me, with 3-4 hour wear if I'm careful. The shade is simply stunning warm true red with some slight orange tones. Red as such are super easy to pull off as they pack enough punch to be considered red but also the perfect amount of orange to make it truly a spring/summer shade! The formula is super comfortable on the lips. Forget almost chalky MAC mattes, this one's super creamy and goes on like a dream. For the perfect line, I'd use a lip liner due to the creaminess of the lipstick! What's most important, though, the shade is a signature shade of our own Leah from Devoted to Pink blog! We are all super proud of your recent collaboration with L'Oreal Hun! You go get them!!! So if you're planning on updating your lipstick collection with a classic red with a twist, check out L'Oreal Color Riche Matte in Scarlet Silhouette, it's so pretty and chic, you won't regret it! RPR £6.99.

I don't carry my wallet with me all the time as It's massive and It would take half the space so I'm on a serious looking for a cute purse! Instead, I carry my debit card and some money in a small pocket in the bag. This is on purpose too, as if I don't carry my store cards with me I am less likely to spend! It has helped me immensely with my on and off spending ban (ok, mostly off! Lol). I carry my sunglasses and the trick is that folded matte black Ray Ban Wayfarer they take very little space. Keys and my phone and I'm usually out of the door!

What do you think of my new bag? I am totally in love with it right now! I love the pinky nude shade, how small but roomy it is and the design is just to die for! It's also super inexpensive and on the offer now for only £59.00 at Debenhams! What do you carry in your bag on a daily basis? Let me know as I'm super nosey and would love a browse through your bags!

SHOP MY STASH #1 - TOP 5 FORGOTTEN MAKEUP (SO FAR!)

Happy Spring my Queens! I can't believe we've made it! Winter has been long and it seems to still linger with rain and cold weather but I'm writing this on a phone going to work on a Tuesday morning and it is glorious out there. Bloody freezing but sunny and beautiful! Here's to hoping warmth will follow up soon!

As many of you probably know, I've been really into shopping my stash lately and every week, I do a change of makeup I'm using! This has been an eye-opening task. I've realised how much of my collection just sits there! I'm sure this is helping me in a way, as seeing how much I already own, stops me from constant Boots/Debenhams/Selfridges trips! The best part of shopping my stash is re-discovering old favourites and today we'll talk about my recent 5 huge loves I found gathering dust in my Alex drawers!
It's not a surprise I like to glow and highlighters are a huge passion of mine. In one of my first weeks of shopping the stash, I took out theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer and fell in love with it all over again! This is such a universal shade, light champagne like with ultra glowing finish and zero glitter in sight! It was my first more expensive highlighter and a true love once upon a time. It's been such a pleasure to use it daily for a week and I know I need not forget about it again! I'm still in shock linking it to you, that it costs £20.00 now as I remember it being £15.00 before!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette or the best spent £65.00 ever! Worth every penny! There's something about Hourglass powder formulas that works so beautifully on the skin. Imagine smoothing Instagram filter? You can have that look without it! The lightest powder is on the lowest of lows, maybe few applications left & I'll be buying the full size for sure! It is stunning for under eyes and even as a second powder. You need something stronger to set your makeup with? That's fine, just apply a dusting of Hourglass over it to give your skin the most amazing glow from within! Jut beautiful! I've also been using the blushes all the time recently! I just mix both colours and apply them to my cheeks. Again the formula is so Smoothing your blush doesn't just add you a healthy colour to your cheeks but also just smoothes the skin! Beautiful! I only ever use the bronzer in the summer or for evenings as it's too warm on my pink undertones but it's also super beautiful! You can't buy this version anymore, unless you're willing to spend £££ on a questionable product from eBay, but you can still grab the newer version down at Space NK

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit swatched in natural light - no flash

Mary-Lou Manizer & MAC Sculpt & Shape swatched in natural light - no flash

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Raffinée swatched in natural light - no flash

Contour wise, I've been so obsessed with my Kobo Contour Powder in Sahara Sand I've practically used it every day. It's nearing its end now so I picked up this MAC Sculpt & Shape Powder and I really like it! I'm only ever using the bronzer in Bone Beige as I find the powder shade in Emphasize to be so hard the brushes don't pick up the product!! So that's rubbish! However, the bronzer picks up much nicer, blends beautifully and creates a healthy shade to my face! It is not too cool toned and for me, I use it mainly to bronze my face and not contour with but can be used for both! This is an another limited edition, so you can't really buy it in a store anymore but both shades are available in the standard collection so you can still pick it up! Buy Emphasize here & Bone Beige here

My first and still only one Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 34 La Raffinée - POSTis a gorgeous daytime shade if you're into rosy tones. It's got a gorgeous pigmentation, has a semi-matte finish and lasts well over 3 hours with eating and up to 5 without! There's something so luxurious about the packaging that makes it so perfect as an add on to your daytime makeup bag! The shade will suit any skin tone and will look beautifully ageist ghastly pale or even the darkest complexion! It's a universal medium rose that will flatter anyone really! And it always makes me chuckle as it's one of the makeup items both me & Nishi (check out her YouTube here!) adore! We've dubbed ourselves #chaneltwins so it's our lippy forever! I've been loving the ease of application and how comfortable it is to wear! Perfect daytime shade and I highly recommend you check it out if you're on a hunt for high-end lippy.

Lastly and finally something more affordable - Makeup Revolution I Tint My Brows in Fairest! - POST - If you are blonde with unruly brows - you will love this Brow Gel! It'll lighten the hair ever so slightly but also keep them in place for 24 hours plus if needs are! It's only £1.99 and honestly one of the best Brow gels I've ever used! If I could wish for something it would be a smaller applicator and I'd be willing to pay double the price for it! I've had it for a long while and it's still good to use! There's a lot of product there and the shade is quite cool toned! It's light so if you're done a bigger Brow and looking for ways to soften the look, it'll make a perfect companion! It's been a while since I've used it so it was a great re-discovery! Definitely recommended!

What are your holy grail products? Have you ever considered shopping your stash and changing the products used on a weekly basis? I highly recommend it to anyone with bigger makeup collection as the process of choosing your products is very satisfying! It also makes me feel better that I'm actually using the products in my collection! I highly recommend makeup rotation to anyone. It can be a great tool if you're feeling uninspired!

NEW IN: ANDROGYNY PALETTE REVIEW WITH SWATCHES + MY JEFFREE STAR COLLECTION MAKEUP COLLECTION

It's not a secret that I love Jeffree Star cosmetics. I think the formulas are inspired, even if the packaging centres on tacky and infantile. Of course I'm not talking quality of materials used. The packaging feels heavy and well made suggesting quality, I may just not be so crazy about the pink used. That doesn't change the fact the formulas in eyeshadows, liquid lipsticks and highlighters are different to those of other brands and in general I have only positives to say about them. The formulas are certainly high quality and mostly comparable between the products. Some shades of liquid lipsticks work and wear better than others but in all honesty that's the case for any brand I've tried. I loved Beauty Killer palette since the moment I laid my eyes on it, enjoyed using it for months, so when Androgyny was announced, I knew it'll be mine as soon as it hits this side of the ocean. And it did. On a premiere day. Thank you Jeffree, thank you Beauty Bay.

Eyeshadow Palettes | RPR £40.00

Androgyny (currently out of stock on Beauty Bay)

The outer packaging had a gorgeous brown berry shade to it, so it was a bit of disappointment to see it hiding the super pink packaging of the palette itself. It's made of faux leather and has actually quite luxurious feel to it. I just feel the screaming pink does not suit this palette at all. I wish berry shade was used, but again, that's just my preference. Inside you'll find a good quality mirror surrounded by a vintage mirror (?) frame. I don't like it. Saying that, it's the biggest con I find with the palette as I truly adore the shades, despite the tacky packaging!

I loved the formula of Beauty Killer palette - POST - the shades were extremely pigmented, some even stained the skin so pigmentation was expected with Androgyny. It didn't disappoint! I feel the formula has improved from the original palette and shades are extremely pigmented, yet blendable. All shades are joy to work with and there's so much you can do with the palette in terms of creativity. The shades come in three finishes from buttery mattes through semi matte satins to incredible shimmers.

Shades are truly remarkable and the palette ticks so many boxes: the trends (red, orange and copper tones), craziness (greens, turquoise and blue shades) to daytime faves (cool toned taupe). It is modern, intense but certainly not complete. It completes the Beauty Killer perfectly as you can borrow off white and black shades from it and provides an inspiration for countless evening and daytime looks. There's so much smokiness in this palette and I love how much choice we get. It'll suit any skin tone and eye colour and has shades to compliment all. The only thing it lacks is a true highlight shade, but provides a gorgeous transition (and contour shade) in Safe Word instead.

Frosting - gorgeous pigmented gold, perfect all over or as highlight for medium toned skin
Safe Word - light taupe matte, perfect for contouring the eye or the face
Charm - true orange matte (has slight shimmer in the pan that doesn't transfer)
Deja Vu - metallic copper bronze done right - superb pigmentation
Dominatric - pigmented dark warm chocolate brown, Matte finish
Androgyny - star of the show - muted dark purple matte
Fetish - dark red brown with purple sheen in the pot, not visible on lid, almost matte
Military - Jeffree does khaki or muted kiwi as I like to describe this gorgeous green matte
Poison - dark muted turquoise/ sea blue matte
Swallow - dark muted blue, almost navy matte

I couldn't be more in love with this palette if I tried. The shades have intense pigmentation, yet blend almost by themselves. This is a smokey eye heaven as the two shades which look satin in the pan are almost matte on the lid, so if you love your mattes and are little bored and tired with all warm shade palettes, this is the one for you. Shades like Safe Word are so versatile, they do your daytime makeup alone, you can not only contour your eyes but also face with it. For an intense smokey, the ultra copper Deja Vu does the whole look for you! All the shades last well on me and the lasting power improves with Urban Decay Primer Potion slightly than over MAC Painterly. My favourite and most used shades so far are Safe Word, Charm, Androgyny and Fetish but all shades come with superb pigmentation so everyone can have their pick!
Beauty Killer was the palette of last summer for me. It was the only palette I took on holiday with me last year and it didn't disappoint. I created multiple looks with it - POST- and I love it for bringing out my creative side! How it compares to Androgyny? Some of the shades, especially the gold were more gritty in texture and the two shimmers in Androgyny are so much smoother and more buttery to touch. The intense pigmentation is comparable in both palettes and I find both complete each other well. If you have both, you truly need no other palettes to create any look under the sun. There's so many beautiful shades in the palette but I was grabbed mostly by the incredible Star Power, Courtney, Expensive and Confession! Check out my in depth review here for more pictures & swatches!

Skin Frost Highlighters | RPR £25.50

Ice Cold

I talked about Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold already and it landed in my favourites as I used it exclusively for over a month. It is the most incredible shade. If you're super pale as me, it's the one to own. It's white but with some almost white gold shining through in some light and almost platinum shine in other. Simply stunning & I wanted to show you the true power of it in this little video swatch! Isn't it gorgeous? It's the biggest highlighter on the market and it'll take me a long time to even show the dent in it. Perfect for professionals as it's super inexpensive if you take the size in consideration. Still cheaper than Becca for example. I'm not saying spending £25.00 on highlighter is cheap but there are more expensive ones out there. You can't fault it. The shade, the lasting power, the size. It has a huge mirror which is actually good quality and the packaging is super sturdy, if not really travel friendly.

Velour Liquid Lipsticks | RPR £16.00

I left liquid lippies for last but they're certainly not least. Jeffree Star has revolutionised the liquid lipsticks and is most known for them. In terms of the packaging, I actually like it. It fits my aesthetics more than the palettes or highlighters. The shade gallery is extensive and some shades are truly remarkable. There's still some shades (Unicorn Blood!!!) I need but I'm happy with my collection so far. I have shades from each spectrum and I love most. Some shades are better than others in terms of quality, transfer, lasting power and wear but I really like them all. What I find is that the shades do last forever given you don't eat anything too oily as oily formula seem to dissolve the formula super easy. So as long as you're eating a quick salad, you'll be wearing JS for hours! The vegan formula has its perks and the lippies can be used as a liner too as the formula has been tested and is eye friendly. I haven't actually tried that, but maybe one day?

Chrysanthemum

It's a beautuful pinky nude. Not fully opaque and needs two swipes. It's got some sheen to it and works great for daytime. If you're pale, I would top up with a slightly darker lip liner for more definition.

Mannequin

It's light pinky brown nude with matte finish. Dries to opaque matte and works great over a darker nude or on it's own. Stays on well and wears off nicely. Easy to top up during a day.

Rose Matter

It's a muted medium rose. It dries opaque matte and only needs one swipe. Stays out all day and it's easy to top up. I really like this shade for every day as it's a perfect balance between usual nudes and most daring statement shades. This one has a very specific scent which I personally hate, but I excuse it as the shade is perfect.

It was my first JS lipstick and made me fall in love with the formula. I love the scent but it's not the usual scent for JS sadly. The shade is a crazy intense pink with slight reddish tones. It dries opaque matte and is long wearing. It wears off nicely and it's ok to top up during the day.

Scorpio

It's a dream if you love the whole taupe purple trend. It's quite dark and fits the trend well. Dries fully matte, almost opaque. The formula is slightly more creamy than others and sadly it wears off not great. I thought it's how darker shades do but it's this one in particular that needs topping up badly during the day and can be crumbly if you do it too often. It's a shame as the shade is simply stunning!

Checkmate

It's an another favourite of mine. Intense orange red. It dries matte and super opaque. It's the most gorgeous statement red I own and I love pairing it with any eye! It stays out well, wear off nicely and can be topped up during a day with no issues. I adore the intensity of the shade. This will suit any complexion but looks so gorgeous against pale skin!

Designer Blood

It's an intense dark berry red. It dries opaque and matte. It wears beautifully all day and can be topped up. It is by far my most worn Jeffree's liquid lipstick. This statement shade will suit any complexion and fits the dark lip trend well! I love it for daytime as it makes the rest of the makeup a canvas to it's glorious statement finish. Definite must have!

Overview

There's definitely a lot to say about Jeffree Star but I'm not interested in the controversy. He's a very interesting individual and he knows how to market himself, so I wouldn't necessarily think all the controversy isn't just a play in the crazy world he lives in. I respect him as an artist, I think it takes hard work and determination to not only lead the business but also create, design and inspire. Maybe it's not your cup of tea, but I find that quite inspiring. I think hard work should be celebrated and you can't deny him that.

Out of all the collection, I love it all. I think the lipstick shades are inspired and that goes for Eyeshadows and highlighters. I have few more on my wish list and the latest purchase won't be my last! I like Jeffree Star as a brand and I think you would to!
