A FRIDAY NIGHT PAMPER

When I was in my twenties Friday night meant heavy drinking till the wee hours of Saturday morning. It was fun while it lasted! Now, I much prefer to come home and relax after a busy week at work. I try and treat my skin instead of getting it dehydrated by copious amounts of alcohol ingested! Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a glass of red wine while I apply the beautifying potions to my skin. Lately, my Friday night routine turned in to a glorious experience and I’d love to share it with you.

Yummy bath time

I love a good bath, did I mention it before? Duh! Lately, I love adding a little of Nacomi Cocoa Moisturising Body Oil*. It smells of Oreo Cookies and with the goodness of cocoa seed extract, grape seed extract and argan oil it helps keep my skin nourished whilst I soak in the relaxing bath. Enter candles and wine here and you’ll find yourself a perfect night in set up ladies and gents!

A long bath allows for a hair treatment or two and I always start with Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox*. The pomegranate enzymes and natural castor oil beads exfoliate the scalp removing all the product build-up and impurities that tend to block the roots. I love this clever peeling that allows for a hair growth and keeps my locks shiny and weightless!

Whilst I soak my sorrows away, I love to scrub my body. Whilst we all know exfoliating is great, we tend to forget our body needs it as well as our face! Living Sea Therapy Sea Salt Scrub* offers an incredible peeling experience with the flaked Cornish Sea Salt flakes whilst the mix of nine essential oils such as lemongrass, cardamom and peppermint allow for deep nourishment as well as full detox. I find the scent to be so uplifting and my skin feels incredibly moisturised. No need for body lotion after!

The face bit

The hot and relaxing bath truly opens up the pores which allow for a deep and thorough cleansing. I start with massaging a pump and a half of Glossier Milky Gel Cleanser. It smells lovely which adds on to the cleansing experience. After a 30-second mini massage, I turn to my trusty Magnitone Barefaced Cleansing Brush*. The combination of pulsed vibrations and sonic oscillations allows for truly deep cleansing. Forget the blackheads and blocked pores! I love a timer, which gives you a beep every 20 seconds when it’s time to switch the area. 20 seconds each for the t-zone, cheeks and neck allows you to time your cleansing ritual perfectly.

I’ve been using AHAs for a while now and lately, I went back to my favourite duo from Bravura. I take a half of pipette each of Bravura Glycolic Acid 10% infused with Lavender* and Bravura Lactic Acid 10% infused with Rose*. I mix both in a glass bowl and apply with a synthetic fan brush* concentrating the treatment all over the face and neck. 30 minutes to glow is crucial here, so I put on a new episode of Riverdale (I’m such a huge fan of Archie’s comic universe!) and put a timer on. I remove the remainder with my Magnitone WipeOut Cleansing Cloth*. I love the material which removes all products quickly and is gentle on the skin!

A great mask is a must. Being in my 30s now *deep sigh* I appreciate the need for one and always look for new favourites. I’m also always in for mixing potions, so Skin Yoga Sandalwood Saffron Face Mask* hits all the boxes. Saffron improves skin texture and makes it more radiant, whilst walnuts are great antioxidants and include the chemicals that help boost circulation and allow the skin to oxygenate more efficiently. It has wood at the centre of its scent and must be foxed to create a paste. You can either do that by mixing it with water or with natural oils. I opt in for jojoba oil, as it creates a great paste and also allows for more anti-ageing benefits.

Skincare musts

Why stop at cleansing and masking! I find a skincare to go on so well after a little pamper first. My Magnitone Barefaced Rose Gold edition* with The Stimulator brush head! This fancy add-on allows for better stimulation and skincare absorption. It is recommended to use every other day and I tend to stick to that. I love using it with PulseLift Toning Mode and a favourite serum. Again 20-second timer will let you know when it’s time to change up. The effects are almost instant but with a prolonged use, you start to notice a more drastic difference in the firmness of your skin, especially around the neck!

Autumn is truly here and I’m back to use of retinoids! Less sun means I can treat my complexion with a stronger stuff. My current favourite is The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane. The high concentration of Granactive Retinoids has been shown to offer better results against multiple signs of ageing. This type of retinoids is a lot gentler and does not irritate the skin as other retinols may do. Non-water formula and add on of squalane offers a gentle and deeply moisturising experience. Perfect for the evening, I usually mix it with other serums and use a Magnitone Stimulator head to massage the products in.

I finish up my routine with a moisturiser and some oils. Lately, I’m using up The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream. The buttery rich formula glides on the skin and sinks in quickly. I love switching to richer formulas in autumn months to help skin battle the dehydration. Black Cumin Seed Oil, Camellia Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil work together to deeply moisturise and revitalise the skin. Helps deliver all the anti-ageing benefits and keeps my skin radiant and soft to touch. Great for both evening and morning and I’ve been loving it again for some time! Few drops of The Hero Project Glow Drops is all my skin needs to wake up the very next day radiant, ultra moisturised and simply stunning! A mixture of natural oils, essential oils and vitamin C keeps dullness at bay. I have never seen such impressive ingredient list in my life (click here for full review). I warm up 3-4 drops in my hands and apply it by pressing first then gently massaging it in. It smells lovely, sinks in fairly quickly thanks to dry oil formula and delivers the most gorgeous glow. Great as a skin hangover cure, which is precisely why I love using it as part of a pamper routine to allow my stressed out the skin a full recovery!

Do you love to pamper? I hope you allow yourself that half hour a week (or two hours ahem) to truly pamper your skin and your soul. Work and life are so stressful so taking time for yourself is what doctor recommends! No excuses! What are your current skincare go to’s my dear readers?

  10. Okay, so as pampering gifts go, it won't involve too many rub downs or facials, but it's still a wonderful chance to relax. Kūdikių Lovytės
