Spring is just around the corner so I've decided to make some changes in my appearance. My lovely friend Alex has offered me a hair metamorphosis at her saloon so I took a chance and I love how my hair turned out. I needed a new look to go with my crazy new hair, plus I was just dying to use Simply Marlena by Makeup Geek. Here's how it all went down :)
I arrived at Alex saloon bright and early. If you live in Birmingham - go and check Alex out. Here's her FB page :). Alex wanted to try a bright pink shade so we decided to do it mainly on my ends but not totally ombre style, just put few thick pink highlights through. To finish the look Alex used a dark greyish based dye on the rest of my hair. The results are astonishing !! I love it <3
I started by priming my lids with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, which is by far my favourite base of the last good 6 months. It's creamy but light and colour matches my eyelids so well. I used Makeup Geek Sorbet to set the base with and in the crease to act as a transition shade. I used Makeup Geek Bitten and Americano to darken up the outer corner and blended it out slightly in the crease. For mid lid I choose the most beautiful shade: Makeup Geek Simply Marlena. It's a satin finish and of muted magenta shade - simply gorgeous ;) I repeated the steps on the lower lid. I finished off the inner corners and blending towards the middle with Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow in Whimsical.
Two coats of Max Factor Velvet Volume Mascara finished this look nicely.
I love my base to feel light and radiant so I decided on Collection Illuminating Foundation in Porcelain. It gives just light coverage but the most glowing finish ever. It's also really budget friendly so don't miss out on this amazing foundation.
I then used a little of Bourjois City Radiance Concealer for under the eye area to brighten it a little bit. This concealer gives the tinniest amount of coverage so use it sparingly and maybe add a second coat afterwards.
I used Tanya Burr Cheek Palette to finish of the base. I used bronzer to warm up my complexion without going in to contour, then a blush and a highlight. I must admit I love the blush and highlight in this palette - so gorgeous, perfect for those sunny spring and summer days :)
I used Golden Rose Velvet Matte Lipstick in shade 04, which is a gorgeous magenta. Unfortunately this line isn't available in UK, but you can find it in EU. They cost around £2 each and give a beautiful pigmentation and matte finish.
SPRING IS COMING !!! I hope you enjoy my finished look. I am looking forward to spring so much and I feel like this look can be worn day to evening. The Makeup Geek shadows practically blend themselves, such great quality !! I really enjoyed creating this look and I feel it works well with my new hair too :) What do you think ladies?
