HELLO SPRING - CLINIQUE COUNTER AT BOOTS HAUL & PURPLE HAZE MAKEUP FOR DAYTIME

Hello Spring :) With clocks officially on spring time and Easter behind us, welcome back after the short break :) Despite the rain outside I thought it would be nice to show you my new Clinique haul that I recently splurged on Clinique counter at my local Boots (hello to a lovely girl at Birmingham High Street branch). What's better to lift the mood than a new makeup, am I right?

If you follow me on Snapchat you already seen my new discoveries and if not, where have you been hiding? Search: i.dorottka for #beautysnaps, daily #MOTDs and more :) I'm super pleased with most of the products I bought so I'll give you a quick overview and my first impressions <3

Boots were running a special Gift with Purchase on their Clinique counters, where you could grab a makeup bag full of goodies with 2 purchases, one to be a skincare. Honestly the bag was just too gorgeous to walk away from, just look how pretty :)

I decided on a new Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream that I've been seeing advertised everywhere. I haven't seen many blog reviews on it yet so watch this space - it is coming. Lovely girl at the counter highy recommended it and having swatched it on the back of my hands I fell in love with its lightweight formula. It's £22.00 per 15 ml so way cheaper than my fave from Origins and I thought it would be nice to have a different, lighter daytime formula. What's great about it as well, you can top it up during the day on top of makeup. Yes, you heard it right. It's round applicator works the cream beautifully under the eyes - no dragging and I've been loving it as a base for underneath my concealer. Also if you ask nicely (just kidding) it's available as part of a set, so for the same price you get a mini Clinique High Impact Mascara (previously reviewed here) and Clinique Quickliner Intense, which is full size black retractable pencil. Win win.

For my "second" product I choose a teeny tiny Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (£13.00). I always tend to do a total mess with my bottom lash line so this tiny mascara wand works wonders on me. It's lovely black shade and very long lasting formula means no more smudging and lovely separation. It looks a bit like a brow mascara and I love it so far :)

Time to dig into the free gift. Let's start with the makeup bag. It's not the most practical as it's white but I love the makeup design and colours. It's very roomy so you can easily pack both makeup and skincare for the overnight stay. Isn't it the cutest?

Inside there's plenty to choose from, starting with another mini Clinique High Impact Mascara :) This is a very daytime mascara so if you like your volumized lashes, you may want to skip on this one, but I like the effect. Another makeup bit is Love Clinique Eyeshadow Trio in lovely springtime purple shades. You get one matte - deeper purple, one shimmer and one highlight shade. Packaging is to die for and matching the makeup bag perfectly. When it comes to pigmentation - it's lacking. It took me a while to create a very basic look. Purple shade just disappear when blending, which is a shame. I have many great eyeshadows and these aren't coming close to even the cheapest in my collection. I like the colours though and I think if you're only into daytime looks, this will do nicely. It's a lot of work though to make it a little more intense. Its a pass from me. To finish up with makeup, there's a mini size of Clinique Pop Lipstick and Primer in 09 Sweet Pop which is a nice springtime pink. It's a very hydrating finish and if you'd like to know more I already reviewed this series here before :)

I was more excited about the skincare to be perfectly honest and being treated to 30ml sample of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion + for dry and combination skin ticks all my boxes. It's a great size and I love this stuff. It's super hydrating and light enough to be used underneath makeup. Come to momma :) Also Clinique All About The Eyes Rich (7ml) is not only a great testing size but I wanted to try it for some time. Once my evening eye cream from Origins is done I will most definitely use this one :) I love richer formulas for evening and I heard so much about this one. I want :) To finish it all off we get to try a 30ml sample of Clinique Take The Day Off. It's the oily formula and I've been dying to try it. It's pricey but having a sample to test it first is just perfect.

I paid £35.00 in total for all the goodies above and I think that's an incredible deal. I also created this daytime look for you, using mainly Clinique makeup. I hope you'll like it :)

Products used:
Foundation: Clinique Super Moisture Foundation in 02 (got a free sample at the counter)
Blush: Estee Lauder Signature Blush in Peachy
Bronzer: theBalm Bahama Mama

Lips: Clinique Pop in Sweet Pop

Hope you enjoyed this massive springtime Clinique haul. Let me know what are you treating yourself to this spring? Maybe you can recommend something? Sound off in the comments below and I'll see you here next time :)

Love
