BLOGMAS #8: LET IT SHINE - CHRISTMAS PARTY MAKEUP WITH A HINT OF COLOUR

Hello my beauties. I'm running a tag on Instagram #7daysofchristmas and today is day 3 so I'm combining Blogmas with it and coming to you with a new proposition for a Christmas Party Makeup (JOIN ME BY USING THE HASHTAG & TAGGING ME IN YOUR PHOTOS). Be that an office party, night out with your boy or a hitting the town with girls, you need to look fabulous and ready to take on another parteee in December :) I love a good smokey eye so I thought I will play it safe and go for chocolate brown with a hint of gold and a little green to make it a lot more festive. This will go brilliantly for a New Years Eve if you perhaps make it even more interesting with a feline flick line :)

Base:

For my primer I choose Emite Make-Up Diamond Heart Illuminating Base Primer. It gives your skin a little luminosity and makes foundation just glides on afterwards. It fills your pores a little but I wouldn't recommend it for an oily skin. I then added a bit more glow by applying So Susan Statement Skin Highlighting Crayon in Star Light. It gives some serious glow without being too much. I wanted to keep it in between between luxury/pro and drugstore so I chose my new addiction to the base family: Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation in Porcelain. All of the above I'm still hard at testing so I will leave my conclusions to the later posts, but so far so good. I like the foundation for giving me a light to medium coverage with a luminosity, here brought up to good strobing lever by add on of the highlighter underneath. I wanted to keep my skin as light as possible so I added a highlighter (Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer in 1 Naked) for my under eye first, blended it in by tapping motion with my fingers and added a tad of Collection Lasting perfection Concealer in 1 Fair to the mini triangle in the inner corner going towards the nose. I wanted that area to be as smooth and light as possible so it looks refreshed. I set it with MUA Pro-Base Prime & Conceal Powder but left the base powder-less.

Cheeks/Contour:

For my "create me a cheekbone" needs I used Freedom Makeup Pro Glow in Roar. This is a strong party bronzer as it's dark but also pretty cool toned. It's satin to matte finish gives you great results and it's so easy to blend even thought the colour's so dark. It works on me and I'm as pale as a ghost. It also gives me the most define cheekbones ever so hell yeah to Freedom for this one. I finished off my cheeks with a little extra than I usually do of a Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink. Remember camera will "eat up" the colour so a little extra won't hurt anybody in the evening :)

Eyes:

Ah the playtime. And play I did lol. I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly to prime my eyelids. I then added Color Tattoo Leather Effect in Chocolate Suede across the whole mobile lid. I didn't blend it out to high just in the crease with Freedom's Roar to deepen up the crease and to set it with powder product at the same time. I then added Makeup Revolution Pure Pigment in Agonise on nearly entire lid just leaving out the inner corner and a bit of outer corner where I decided to add a little Roar again to darken in up a bit. I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on the entire lower lid and applied my main contestant - the colour. I had to use my beautiful Urban Decay Vice 4 again and I was inspired by the look Dagmara created for our Vice 4 collab (check out her and my posts here, if you missed it), so I chose C-Note for the entire lower lash line building up the colour until I was happy with it. I then added a little Essence Kajal Pencil in 25 Feel The Mari-Time to my waterline to intensify the effect of the lower lid. I blended it with some more C-Note. I then added a bit of Grasshopper in the outer lower lid corner and a little Roar to blend it out there (to slightly connect upper and lower lid). I wanted even more sparkle so I topped of the middle of the upper lid with Flame applied wet - what a colour !!! I added Makeup Revolution Eye Foil in Rose Gold to the inner corner and slightly blended it out outwards. I finished my eye with two coats of Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.

Lips:

I wanted a wow effect and needed it to be purplish to go in line with my new slightly purple pastel ombre so I chose MAC Rebel because why the hell not :) You can pair it with a red lip or nude if you so wish but hey I went purplish lol

I hope you like the finished look and as usual I'm awaiting your critique :) Can't believe it's already Blogmas part 8... 3 sleeps to Christmas people!!! Are you excited? What's your plans for this magical time? Let me know in the comments below because I'm nosey like that <3

Thank you for reading.
Love,
