Summer hasn't been treating us too well here in UK with bad weather spells and general lack of sunshine. But I'm soldiering through and have been testing a lot of great products recently.
I've received ModelCo Crème Rouge Cheek & Lips (RPR £14.00) as part of one of the Latest in Beauty boxes. Firstly I wasn't convinced about the colour, but once I applied it for a first time, I was sold. It's a gorgeous coral red and it works great.
Here's what the producent has to say about it:
A long-lasting, multi-purpose cheek and lip colour that provides a sheer, buildable colour for naturally flushed looking cheeks and soft, tinted lips. Apply directly onto bare skin, or over your moisturiser or foundation, Crème Rouge imparts a dewy radiant colour that is non-drying and enhances the contours of your face. Blot softly onto lips for a fresh, stained finish.
I like the packaging, no surprises here as it's black and modern. Size and product weight is decent and given how pigmented it is you only need a little at the time.
Application is very easy, both fingers or stippling brush work great. I've been loving my Real Techniques Stippling Brush for the ease of blending. Just use a little as this colour can really show.
I've swatched it for you, so you can see for yourself how creamy and pigmented the formula is. I like to pair it up with a red lip for summer outings.
Lasting time isn't too bad, however you may need to top it up. It's where your fingers come handy if you don't like carrying brushes with you. It lasted up to 4 hours on me, which to be perfectly honest isn't that great for a cream product. I recently included Bourjois Aqua Blush in my favourites and man does it last all day !!! I like the colour and as I haven't that many of creme blushers laying around this will have to do. It's great that you can top it up quite easily with your fingers during the day.
I haven't tried it on my lips as I have plenty of lip products so I can't really give my opinion about how it works on the lips.
Would I purchase it again? Unfortunately not. I may not mind too much that a blush I received as part of a beauty box doesn't last all day, but I would, if I spent a full RPR on it.
To sum up I find the creamy formula pleasant to work with and application very easy. I also really like the colour and the pigmentation of the product. However its lasting power has lost it a lot of points in my opinion.
I have to mention I don't set the blusher with any sort of powder as I prefer dewy look for summer, hence the reason I've been switching it up for creamy textures instead of powders in general this time of year.
If you'd like to check it out it's available here.
Let me know what you think ladies? Have you used this blush or maybe anything else from ModelCo range? Were you happy with your purchases? Sound off in the comments section below, I'd love to hear from you.
