Mascara under the radar. Clinique High Impact Mascara review.

Hello beautiful people. It's Thursday today, not long until the weekend. I have been a little under the weather but I'm trying to get back to form now. So if you haven't seen as much of me on social media, I apologise. I'll try to get back to form as soon as possible :)

When I started this blog I promised myself not to review any mascaras. Mascara is such a personal choice and what works for one doesn't work for the other. This review is based only on my personal opinion and I will try not to influence your choice. This is not sponsored in any way but I thought it deserves a shout out.

Today I will concentrate on my new baby - Clinique High Impact Mascara. I do that. I switch in between high street and designer with ease, always on a hunt for something better. Is High Impact Mascara best I've ever tried? Maybe not, but it does the job beautifully for the mascara needs I have at this particular moment. I like my lashes defined but lately I have been going for more of a natural look. Something that would define them, give them natural black effect but won't clump and overpower them. I think I found just that in Clinique's mascara.

The brush - Let me start right here. When I first saw it, I wasn't impressed. I was horrified in fact. I don't like straight brushes, I thought this will not only give me a very weak effect but also would be a total waste of my time in the morning. In the morning we need fast and accurate and I judged the brush as neither. I thought I will ruin any eye makeup as brush is quite on a large side. I was worried that most mascara will go on my lid and not lashes. I was worried that my lashes will get a very little product. HOW WRONG I WAS!!!. With the first coat the lashes are defined. They're separated and black. Normally I will stop just there. One coat and I'm ready to take on the world. It gives beautiful volume effect without being clumpy. Second coat gives you more volume and length. This mascara does it so beautifully. With 3rd coat you may experience a little clumping but its not something you cannot fix. Also who's here have time for 3 coats in the morning? It dries fast too so be quick and efficient when you use it :) I've done eye "swatches" for you showing you what 1, 2 and 3 coats look like :) It will give your lashes the lift you need in the morning to open up your eye and curl that will last for few hours.

Formula - It's not dry but also not very wet making it a great choice for someone who doesn't want to buy a mascara and wait a month after opening to truly see how amazing the product really is. It stays put all day. I didn't experienced any fall out or it going all over my hooded lid in the evening. It's truly remarkable as most mascaras do that for me unfortunately. It's not waterproof and it comes off easily at night, which is excellent considering how well it lasts during a day.

Just to sum up. I really enjoy using Clinique High Impact Mascara. I think it gives me a perfect result in just one coat. It's great for the daytime and also for evening if topped up with additional coat or two, if you like. It doesn't clump, it doesn't fall out. I'm going to give it 4 out of 5 stars. Why not 5? It is not the best mascara yet. I'm still searching for something better, something to tick all the boxes.

I'm seriously impressed but what do you think? Do you think the results are proportionate to the price tag? You will need to spend £17.50 which is rather on a cheap side when it comes to designer mascaras yet still double the price of Maybelline ones. Is it worth it? I rather say that it is. It's a great mascara overall. You can check it out here.

Thank you for reading.
Love,

Dorota x

  1. This looks like a great mascara! I don't like to spend lots on high end mascaras as I found the drugstore ones do the job as good but I do love the Too Faced better Then Sex and the Benefit Roller Lash mascaras. x

  2. I used this mascara years ago and quite liked it, I think I even repurchased it, but then moved on to something else as it wasn't THE perfect mascara (is there such thing?!?).
