I love August. It's my favourite month of the year as I celebrate my birthday on the 14th. I'm so glad we are experiencing another spell of summer weather in UK and I hope it'll continue through the month :) How are you all doing today? Any special plans for this glorious, sunny Sunday?
I'm bringing to you my first ever monthly favourites post. I've been doing them a little over on my Instagram but taking them here for you for the first time. I may include different bits every month from beauty to lifestyle and books. This is my first one and as I'm a little inexperienced I hope you stick around to see how this chapter can evolve in time :)
For now and the month of July let's stick to makeup and accessories as there's been few products I just wasn't able to put down.
Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette premiered on 1st June and I have to say I've been using it a lot. You can create so many beautiful looks from this warm toned palette. Colours are just gorgeous and I adore most of them. The shades I most used and loved were Bitter Start (matte beige) that is the most pigmented light beige shade I've ever seen, Substitute For Love, warm medium brown with slight orange undertone and Freshly Toasted which again is warm brown just darker, chestnut like colour. For swatches and more pics of this incredible palette check here for my review. RPR £15.50 - buy here
Kendall Jenner for Estee Lauder in Restless gets my vote for a lipstick of the month. Pigmentation of this poppy coloured lipstick is insane, it stays put for hours and hours and looks just incredible. I've been wearing it a lot this last month and I still can't believe I'm liking an orange toned lip colour this much. For my review with swatches please check here. You can get it here for £25.00
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm is my lip prep of the month. It totally replaced my Carmex and that says a lot. Prepping your lips is so important, especially if you're planning on wearing matte lipstick so I've been loving this little gem. It's really nourishing on my lips, gets rid of dry bits and smells incredible like a fruity chewing gum. It's £12.00 from here
There were two blushes I've been wearing non stop this month, just alternating a bit. I haven't been contouring so much, just adding a little blush on a day to day basis.
Firstly Bourjois Aqua Blush in Pink Twice. I got this as part of a beauty box and have been wearing it pretty much non stop. It's creamy, not too pigmented and it leaves my cheeks looking really fresh with a tad of colour. It also stays put for hours so no worries here that it'll disappear on you. RPR £8.99 available here.
Second contender was a little gem from Freedom London, their single Blush in Rare. It's a gorgeous coral shade and I've been complementing my Kendall Jenner lipstick with this blush. It goes on nicely, it is very pigmented so you only need a little and stays put all day. All this for a quid. Amazing. Buy it here.
I am finally able to say that I'm happy with my brows. I stopped over plucking and trying to keep them as natural as possible. They are still quite unruly and there's bits that need filling but these two drugstore finds have been with me all this month and I love them.
NYC Brow Kohl in 925 Sable is a really great brow pencil. It's a cool toned taupe that goes on lovely and stays put. I've been feeling my brows with it as it's pretty much identical colour to my own brows.
To keep them in place I've been using a brow mascara from Makeup Revolution. I Tint My Brows in Fairest has been my favourite for months now. It's inexpensive, it's cool toned and it makes my brows stay put. Honestly it's hard to take it off at night, it's so hardcore. You can get it here for £1.99
Lastly I'd like to give a shout out to two duo fiber brushes from Glambrush, I've been using non stop this month. There's a full review coming on the set I got and they are not perfect as there's some things I dislike about them, but that didn't stop me from using them all the time. They work beautifully with liquid products and I don't know how I lived without them. I use a bigger one (T1) for my foundation and smaller (T6) for creme/liquid blush. You can check out the whole range here.
I hope you enjoyed my selection of favourites this month. Have you used any of these? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments below :)
