Back to the issue in question. Heart Beauty Essentials is, as the name suggests, packed full of essentials for you to enjoy. Be that haircare or skincare, bit of luxury and highest street. There’s also a little makeup included which is always nice :)
|Heart Beauty Essentials|
I tend to start these first impressions with hair products. It makes me chuckle as I rarely spend any time on my hair, like ever, yet I am first to review it. Make me lol :) But as history suggests let’s start with some hair essentials. I’ve used some of Dove’s Advanced Hair series before and I was pleasantly surprised. I have yet to try Youthful Vitality and now I have two great sized samples to do so. Both Shampoo and Conditioner are 50ml each making it a perfect travel size or testing sample. I have very long hair so they may last me for 3 washes max but I will be able to form an opinion about them based on that. It’s not something I’m truly excited about but it’s a good drugstore brand worth trying out.
If you love a bit of pamper time the next 5 items should blow your mind and rightly so (at least most of them). Great selection of both sample and full size SPA at home products are hitting the right spot with me. I start my pamper sessions with cleaning of my face, I always double cleanse my face before any treatments. Philosophy’s Purity 3 in 1 cleanser is a 30ml sample and very welcome one as such. The brand is well known. I really like the packaging and it makes a perfect holiday companion. This is however not a natural product and SLS and alcohol are quite high on the list of ingredients. It may not be for everyone but I will give this one a go and report back in Empties post :)
After I cleanse I like to draw a bath and add some oils and salts in the water so I can enjoy a truly relaxing experience. Enter Kneipp’s Herbal Bath Back Comfort Devil’s Claw. It has a fairly strong herbal smell to it, so if that’s not your style this may not be a product for you. It aims to be beneficial and relaxing or the back, shoulders and your neck, so it could be a perfect stress reliever. It has a bright red colour and the manufacturer advises to add it under running water as well as rinsing off any undiluted product from any surfaces. You are also advised to rinse a tub with a hot water after the bath to remove any residue. There’s a lot of cautions to use this product and I would be a little scared to do it in my all white bathroom to be perfectly honest. I may need to pass on testing this one out.
Whenever I have a bath I need to have few things present. Candles, Vogue, red wine if I’m feeling frisky and a face mask. Balance Me Radiance Face Mask is an excellent choice. I actually currently own one and love it. I was so happy to see it in the box as I’m really happy to have a replacement. Balance Me products are 98% natural and this mask does what it promises to do. It polishes, hydrates and smoothes your skin making it a perfect pamper choice. This is a clay mask so I suggest having a little mist next to you if you don’t like the feeling you get when it dries.
You can add on a little extra to your mask routine by adding Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels with Hexapeptide technology. Little science knowledge first. Hexapeptide is a substrate of Botulinum toxin which is well known in cosmetics world as Botox. It is a well known ingredient in any anti-wrinkle therapy. These can be used as part of your weekly beauty regime or even as a quick fix before a night out as they work in 10 minutes. As far as ingredients go, Skyn Eye Gels are free of paragons, petroleum, mineral oil, sulphates also known as SLS, phthalates, synthetic fragrance and dye. Product is 100% vegetarian & cruelty-free. I am looking forward to trying this out !!!
I prefer to remove my face masks or cleanser with face cloth. Here we received a cutely packaged Expandable Face Cloth. It’s in a heart shape and will make an excellent present to someone. It’s 100% cotton and it reminds me of the way MUJI packages their unique products. It a nice add on to the box.
There’s also two skincare items in the box. First is a sample sized serum from Vichy. Idéalia Life Serum (3ml) is paraben free and as all brands produce made with Vichy Thermal Spa Water. I really like Vichy and they rarely get it wrong so I will definitely be giving this a go. I only wish the sample was a little bigger as it would be easier to judge a serum if it was at least 10ml.
We also get to try, full size this time, Amie Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturiser. It has a very lightweight formula with little, but vey pleasant smell. 100ml is double from what I come to expect in a face cream. Again this is free from parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and petrochemicals. There’s no GMO’s and the products aren’t tested on animals and are vegan friendly. Light cream formula sinks in nearly instantly which makes it a lovely morning moisturiser. Amie has originally been created for people worried about chemical substances added to their skincare, perfect for stressed skin prone to redness and sensitivity. It fits perfectly in the description of what I need in my face cream so I’m super excited to give this one a go. It’s £4.95 making it a really affordable, natural skincare.
Le Couvent des Minimes Cloisters Hand Cream is a generous sample size (25ml). Formula is silky and sinks in really quickly. It has a light smell of rose and berries which is very pleasant. I don’t like rose scented products but in this instance I really don’t mind as it’s not overbearing. Hand cream is always a great addition as we should all take good care of them. They will show our true age quicker than any other part of our body :)
We also get to try a sample from Green People with their Sun Lotion SPF15. This isn’t high enough for me unfortunately as I prefer SPF50 mainly, sometimes I’ll go to SPF30 but never SPF15. I will use this as a hand cream later on in a year. The ingredients are quite impressive and are free of all bad substances and not tested on animals. It’s truly a shame this product has SPF15 only as I would love to test it out more.
This must be a 3rd time I get to test Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish. Thankfully they all came in different colours. I got mine in Hyde Park Place. It’s a great light grey shade which will be perfect for autumn. It gives great shine and in my experience it lasts better than a standard nail polish from Nails Inc. Formula doesn’t require curing under a lamp but it gives a nice gel finish.
I’m always a little sceptical about makeup items in these types of boxes as rarely you will get a shade or product you would choose for yourself. In this instance however I received a Wild About Beauty eyeshadow in 06 alana which is a beautiful medium brown shade. It has a satin finish and I can see myself using it all the time. I really like the packaging that comes with the mirror. I don’t really think mirrors are important with mono eyeshadows but it’s always a plus. I also really like the embellishing of the actual shadow. Really impressed and can’t wait to see how it’ll last during a day.
Lastly we are in for a little treat from Bare Minerals with two samples of their new Complexion Rescue in two shades 02 Vanilla and 05 Natural. This is a brand new formula from well established mineral makeup/skincare brand. It’s generally a tinted moisturiser with light to medium coverage. It has a non chemical SPF30 making it a great choice for summer months. I’m really excited to try it as I wanted to buy full size for some time.
As per usual Latest in Beauty did not disappoint with their Heart Beauty Essentials box. It is full of great quality products and I’m super excited to be testing them. There are some brands I did not know off which makes it even more exciting.
I always choose my favourites of the boxes I receive and today it will be Skyn Eye Gels, Wild About Beauty Eyeshadow, Amie Face Cream and Complexion Rescue samples :) I’m super excited for a lot more in this box and I will be testing most of the products.
