Unbox with me: June Birchbox French Sole edition.

So this is my very first  Birchbox purchase and I probably wouldn’t buy it if it wasn’t for Which Beauty Box UK, who spends her days plotting and making me addicted to yet another subscription box :) Please go follow her on her Instagram and make sure you get to read her blog as well as it's a great beauty inspiration for me (click here)

I got really lucky too. First, I was able to choose my own design. I am such a girl so I went for flowers but there were 2 more to choose from. All gorgeous of course ! Second I managed to get a FREE Beauty Blender as there was a special promo going around !! And third, on the day I’ve ordered they were also running -20% !!! See what I mean? Wouldn’t you get it too?

Let’s concentrate on the design. Birchbox comes in a beautiful box, rivalling only Glossybox in how well made it is. It’s smaller that Glossybox and it can be beautifully displayed (mine is under my glass coffee table on top of some fashion mags and it looks so cute there). In the box as a bonus there was a shoe bag imitating the design of the box so mine came flowery. I may not use it to store shoes in but it will be great fro travelling so it’s a keeper. This was a lifestyle bonus celebrating Birchbox collaboration with French Sole (shoe brand by which this months box was inspired)

Inside I found 6 products and five of them were sample sized. It was all nicely packaged. However I find Glossybox to be a little neater and therefore more pleasant when you open the box.

Fragrance sample was English Laundry from No7. This is a very strong, nearly masculine scent. I could perhaps use it on my scarf in the winter. It’s most definitely too strong for summer. And too strong for me full stop! I would not spend £60 to buy this full size if Jo Malone comes out cheaper and much more luxurious.

There were two body products samples in the box. Firstly Cowshed’s Body Lotion. I got mine in Knackered Cow (second option was a Gorgeous Cow). Huge thumbs up for the name. I might have been slightly offended when I got Knackered Cow but hey, I got over it quickly. It smells beautiful. I may be the worst person to describe the smell. Add on of lavender and eucalyptus essential oils makes it a great  choice for the evening as the smell is made for the relaxing times. It’s quite a generous sample of 100 ml and I love the packaging. The formula is paragon and sulphate free, it doesn’t contain mineral oil or petroleum making it a heathy skin choice.

I also get to try a sample of Nude’s ProGenius Omega Treatment Oil. This one got me very excited as I wanted to try something from Nude for a long time (so so pricey). It’s only a small sample (5ml) and the full sized product will set you back by £58. This is a face oil and you only need a drop or two. It gives your skin the hydration boost it needs after a day in the sun. It’s a blend of plant oils and Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 which makes it a perfect evening choice again. Use it after thoroughly cleaning your face under moisturiser.

As my hair oil is on its way I am on a lookout for a new one. I was pleasantly surprised to find not one but two samples of Beauty Protector’s Protect & Oil. They both came in tiny glass bottles around 7ml each (sorry - it does’t say how big they really are - I’m totally guessing here). You only need 2-3 drops so these two will last me for a bit. Formula is really lightweight and will be great for any hair type. It doesn’t only give your hair a moisture boost so needed in this sunny weather but it also protects them from sun exposure which is a pleasant bonus. Massage a little in damp hair before styling and you’re good to go :)

Model Co’s Powerlash Black Mascara is the only full size product in the box. It promises show stopping length and ultimate blackness. I should definitely gives this one a go. It’s priced at £14 and Mode Co is one brand I’m always happy to try as they tend to get it right (most time anyway).

Extra Beauty Bonus of the box are temporary metallic tattoos. And boy did they get it right. Ok, so I got some in each box (Latest in Beauty, Glossybox) for the last 2-3 months but these ones I truly love. There’s a gold feather there which I adore and can’t wait for an occasion to wear it !! So so so pretty :) You can get them from STYLondon for £7.99.

Lastly as my ultimate bonus i received a Beauty Blender with a Solid Cleanser ! I am super happy as my old one died many months ago and I haven’t had a chance to repurchase as I’ve been using my Real Techniques one and also testing some cheaper brands as well). There’s not much I can say about a Beauty Blender really. It’s a pink sponge made in heaven. If I could marry it - I would !!

What do you think of this incredible edition of Birchbox? I am super pleased with everything I received. It might have not been so great if I didn’t get my Beauty Blender bonus as most products are only sample sizes. What I do like is the samples are of deluxe brands and I am excited to try them all. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments and I will see you here next time. Don’t forget to follow me on my social media to never miss an update or a post :)

Thank you for reading.
Love,
